Guest guest
Hello all, I just spoke to Heidi about an hour ago and is acting a lot better. She isn't as lethargic and cranky as she had been and the antibiotics seem to be working. Dr. Korson (Mito doctor at NEMC) feels 's issues is a stress response to all her illness' and her body is taking a while to get back on line. He wants us to try to het her healthy and not to stress her body (easier said than done..). I guess immunology, neurology, and GI will all be getting a hand on at some point during her stay. They did an ultrasound of her liver because her LST's were elevated (went from 30-120). The residents sounded concerned but the doctors who have dealt with kids like didn't sound too concerned unless she continues to be elevated. During the ultrasound they looked at her bladder and gall-bladder and found some interesting things. The gall-bladder has a " wall " in it. They think it may be an annomally (spelling???). Her bladder was quite full which normally wouldn't be surprising except she just had an explosion of pee prior to the test. So, the doctors want to look more at her bladder because of the UTI's that she's been having. is still on full TPN and is getting back to her old fussy self when it comes to getting her pulmicort treatments. I'm visiting Heidi and tomorrow and I'll let her know that you all are thinking of them. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. - father to (mito, autonomic dysfunction, RTA, seizures, etc), Kaitlin (5), and (6 1/2), and husband to a great wife, Heidi. _________________________________________________________________ Get ready for school!
