Pred & teeth

Terri, another side effect of Pred is dental problems. I guess I should have thought of it, but I really hadn't heard or read anything about the havoc it can wreak in your teeth. I had several caries every checkup (every 6 mos.), and a couple of my teeth just crumbled. My dentist says that he sees this a lot in patients on steroids. I've been off Pred for over 2-1/2 yrs. & my last checkup was the first one with NO CAVITIES! Yay!

Lynn,Thanks for listening. I am on 30mg q day. I am going to call theneurologist today; if the MRI came back "normal" we discussed moving toanother immunosuppressant. I am ready for a change. The prednisone isdriving me nuts plus I don't want to worry about bone issues. I didjust break a toe a couple of weeks ago (not just a little crack) and Ihave never broken a bone before so I think it is time for a change.I know it will take awhile to get off of it, but I am ready.Thanks for everything.Terri> Ok guys...once again all of my MRI's came back normal. It is funny you say that about prednisone and teeth; I have a little

spot on a back tooth that feels like it is broken. Maybe I shoudl get

it checked before it falls apart.
