Walter: Please provide some citations to the positive long-term literature re: the Lap-Band. The only study I could find which followed patients for more than four years post-op was extremely negative about the technique. Tom
Guest guest
The list of positive articles is too long...try searches under authors like O'Brien, Dixon, Belechew, Favretti, Karl and others.....there's plenty of international support. You might also note whether the study is about the Lap-Band, the Swedish (Ob-Tech) band, or non-adjustable bands of various types......just saying " band " doesn't cut it....If you're really interested in hearing the motivations of real patients and how they feel about their choice, try subscribing to " bandsters " ......maybe then you'll understand that your attack dog tactics are way out of line! Guest guest
Walter, I definitely must have missed something, because I didn't see any " attack dog tactics " . I saw Tom down there saying that all he could find was negative results. Why do you assume ill-intent? If he draws a negative conclusion based on the only information he was able to glean, if that information was generally negative, isn't that a fair assessment on his part? It would have been much more productive and " nicer " if you had written the reply below suggesting positive studies that you are aware of, and left off the " attack dog " comment, wouldn't it?
