Guest guest
Hi Everyone...I am new to the group. I started this diet almost a month ago and I can say I think it may have saved my life!!! I have been suffering with IBS-D for almost 23 years on and off. It snow balled out of control the last year due to stress and Antibiotics. I got very sick in November and I had no appetite, that jumping stomach, pain and constant diahrea. It would not stop. I felt better with in a few days of starting the diet. But I do have a questions..Do I need to take any type of acidiphollis or other supplement for probiotics? I am eating the yogurt and using it to cook? Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks
Guest guest
The yogurt should have plenty of probiotics. Some people choose to take one as well, but the yogurt should have enough. Cooking kills the good bacteria though, so you should eat plenty uncooked. PJ > > Hi Everyone...I am new to the group. Guest guest
I don't take any probiotic supplements except for what I get in the SCD yogurt. You can also try making the yogurt out of organic half and half so it doesn't have carageenan in it. then mix with bananas/honey and freeze.... good ice cream! Not too sure about it, but I try eating the yogurt plain every once in a while since honey is a natural antibiotic. ( Honey never goes bad, it just crystalizes.... Honey has been found in the egyptian temples and it was STILL ok to eat!) It kind of reminds me of Mcs fries if you've ever seen the movie supersize me -UC - 1+ yearsSCD - 7 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 5 pills a day To: BTVC-SCD From: smdsmom2008@...Date: Wed, 20 Jan 2010 15:05:44 +0000Subject: Re: Supplements??? Others find that the probiotics in our good SCD yogurt is quite adequate. I use both. My preference is for the yogurt, but I carry some Lyo-San with me for when I'm out and about, and I really don't want warm yogurt! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
