Dear Newsmax Reader: Blaylock, M.D., a respected doctor and nutritionist has some urgent health information that could dramatically affect your health and well-being. Please take a moment to read his information below. Newsmax.com

Shocking new studies reveal:

'Heart Healthy' Diet Killing MILLIONS Every Year!

Research reveals that polyunsaturatedvegetable oils, which the U.S. government pushes, are like 'fertilizer' for cancer tumors! By Blaylock, M.D.NeurosurgeonDear Friend, Everything you've been told about cholesterol and heart disease is wrong, Wrong, WRONG! I know that sounds hard to believe, but it's true! Most people are convinced that heart disease and stroke result from a diet high in cholesterol and saturated fats. This notion is based on the flawed idea that cholesterol is the cause of atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries.

But the truth is, there is no direct cause-and-effect relationship between cholesterol levels and heart attack or stroke risk. And we've known this for decades! When President Dwight "Ike" Eisenhower had his first heart attack, his cholesterol level was 164 mg/dl — a level considered "perfect" by today's standards. What's more, Ike had his cholesterol measured 10 times a year. He eliminated all saturated fats and ate supposed "heart-healthy" foods, such as corn oil. He did everything his cardiologists asked of him — and yet he suffered a number of new heart attacks and later died of heart disease. What was true of Ike has been true of the general population as well. Americans have been eating a so-called "heart-healthy" diet for more than 40 years now, and yet we've seen no reduction in heart disease, stroke, or atherosclerosis. In fact, heart disease is worse today than it was 50 years ago!

The U.S. government's dietaryrecommendations have killed moreAmericans than both world wars! People find it difficult to believe that everything they have been told about cholesterol could be wrong. They especially have difficulty believing that their own doctors could be so wrong. After all, these doctors went to medical school . . . and they use a lot of fancy medical jargon. That's proof that they must know what they are talking about.

Well, my name is Dr. Blaylock — and I went to medical school, too. I know all the jargon. In fact, I practiced neurosurgery for 24 years. And during most of my practice, I also believed what the medical establishment said about cholesterol — and I prescribed a lot of pharmaceutical drugs. It wasn't until I really began to examine the scientific evidence in greater detail that I discovered that I, like so many of my colleagues, was misled. I was merely parroting a lie that was not true. I discovered not only that cholesterol is NOT a cause of heart disease and stroke . . . but also that the "heart-healthy" diet that has been pushed on Americans for four decades is behind the cancer epidemic we've seen. In fact, the U.S. government's dietary recommendations probably have killed more Americans than both world wars! That's because the polyunsaturated vegetable oils that the government has been recommending are like powerful "fertilizers" for cancer tumors. A report from the Framingham Heart Study, reported in the prestigious journal The Lancet, found that men with cholesterol below 190 mg/dl — considered "healthy" for their hearts — had TRIPLE the risk of developing colon cancer when compared to men with levels greater than 220 mg/dl. As for the risk of heart attack from the higher cholesterol, there was NO DIFFERENCE between the men with levels at 180 mg/dl and those with cholesterol greater than 250 mg/dl.

The problem is, most doctorsdon't have time to keep up withthe latest scientific research!

DR. RUSSELL BLAYLOCKDoctor, Neurosurgeon, Author, Health Advocate Blaylock, M.D., not only compiles and edits Newsmax.com's Blaylock Wellness Report, he's also a nationally recognized board-certified neurosurgeon, health practitioner, author, and lecturer. He attended the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed his internship and neurosurgical residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in ton. For over a quarter of a century, he practiced in the demanding field of neurosurgery in addition to having a nutritional practice. He recently retired from his neurosurgical duties to devote his full attention to nutritional studies and research. Dr. Blaylock has authored three books on nutrition and wellness:

Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills

Health and Nutrition Secrets That Can Save Your Life

Natural Strategies for Cancer Patients An in-demand guest for radio and TV programs, he lectures extensively to both lay audiences and other physicians on a variety of nutrition-related subjects. Dr. Blaylock is the 2004 recipient of the Integrity in Science Award granted by the Weston A. Price Foundation. He serves on the editorial staff of the Journal of the American Nutraceutical Association and is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, official publication of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons. He previously was assistant clinical professor of neurosurgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in and is a visiting biology professor at the Belhaven College, also in .

As I said, I'm an M.D., a board-certified neurosurgeon and have been a practicing physician for more than 30 years. I'm part and parcel of the medical establishment, and for that very reason, I know the strengths and the weaknesses of conventional medicine. Every year, our government and a number of private institutions spend billions of dollars on research, yet a great deal of this research goes unread. Worse, the information gleaned often never is used in treating and preventing human disease. Most doctors never read more than a few articles in popular medical journals, and they almost never read studies of basic science. This is why they think so-called alternative treatments do not work. But the truth is, today's "alternative" treatment often becomes tomorrow's standard of treatment. One example: For decades, so-called alternative and nutritionally-oriented physicians like myself have advocated the omega-3 (fish) oils as a proven preventive for cardiovascular disease, and as a vital component for neurological development in the young. Yet for years many doctors dismissed such recommendations — and mainstream medical journals went out of their way to attack believers in fish oil supplements as misguided. (Now, of course, they all sing its praises as a preventive . . . yet it started out as an "alternative" treatment.)

Mainstream medicine oftenIGNORES the evidence! We hear a lot about "evidence-based medicine," but just how much of traditional medical practice is evidence-based? Studies have shown that as little as 30% of conventional medical practice is backed by science. Most medical procedures, treatments and recommendations are based on nothing more than accepted custom . . . anecdotal evidence of what works . . . and recommendations from drug company reps. The term "evidence-based medicine" was invented largely to discredit all alternative treatments, since it implies that everything outside traditional medicine is not "evidence-based." In fact, most alternative treatments have a tremendous amount of scientific evidence for their mode of action. But they often lack large epidemiological studies, because such studies are prohibitively expensive and the government will not fund well-conducted studies. That is why I now write and edit The Blaylock Wellness Report. And in one of our most popular recent issues, "What Drug Companies Don't Want You to Know About Heart Disease, Cholesterol and Obesity," you'll discover some amazing new "alternative" therapies that will help you stay healthy and overcome some of the most dangerous problems you face as you age. I'll tell you how you can get a FREE copy of this new special report in a moment. But first I'd like to tell you a little bit about me — and how my 30 years as a physician and neurosurgeon led me to embrace a nutritional approach to healing.

Now you can get the 'Inside Story'from an M.D. who has seen it all! You're probably wondering who I am — and how a neurosurgeon came to champion nutritional and other forms of alternative medicine. The truth is, I simply believe in good medicine. I believe in preventing disease if possible . . . and healing it whenever I can. And over the years, I've come to believe that one of the key reasons people get sick and suffer from disease is what they eat. I've also seen the dark side of conventional medicine as practiced in the United States:

Medical students and doctors being "indoctrinated" merely for financial gain . . .

Giant pharmaceutical machines spewing out billion-dollar propaganda for drugs of dubious benefit — or, worse, for drugs they knew had dangerous side effects . . .

Unnecessary surgeries being done when more conservative, less dangerous options were available . . .

Expensive, invasive diagnostic tests being administered to patients who didn't need them merely for "liability" reasons . . .

Insurance companies telling doctors how to practice medicine . . . Finally, I just couldn't sit by any longer and remain silent. I had to find better, less expensive, more effective solutions to the major health issues plaguing the American people. I wanted to help people like you, who are not getting the best advice to prevent and treat diseases . . . just because of corporate greed and a system that puts the convenience and profit of health care providers above the needs of the patient. I am convinced that the average person wants and needs better, more accurate information about threats to their health that exist today — threats that are NOT covered by the mainstream, corporate-controlled media . . .

Why the drug companies have15 billion reasons — all with dollar signsin front of them — for you NOT to knowthe REAL cause of heart disease . . . As I said, we've known for 50 years now what the real cause of heart disease is — and it's not cholesterol. In the 1950s, Dr. Gofman, a medical physics professor at the University of California, made a discovery that blew the lid off the then-fashionable cholesterol theory.

Dr. Gofman found that, in general, the triglyceride level, NOT cholesterol level, was linked most closely to heart disease and atherosclerosis. By the 1960s, studies had shown this to be true, yet the cholesterol proponents already had convinced the government and the media. The reason why the government resisted the idea that triglycerides were more important is simple: The major regulator of triglycerides in the diet is not fat, but sugar and refined carbohydrates. To admit this would be to admit that the high-carbohydrate diet the medical establishment had been pushing for half a century was actually killing people! The bottom line is this: The "heart-healthy" diet the medical establishment still pushes to this day — one low in saturated (meat) fats and high in sugars and refined carbs — does indeed lower HDL cholesterol, just as its advocates say. But it RAISES triglyceride and VLDL cholesterol levels — the very pattern most associated with cardiovascular and stroke risk. Worst of all, the big pharmaceutical companies now have a $15 billion industry — the manufacturing and marketing of cholesterol-lowering statin drugs — that has an enormous financial interest in covering up the truth about what really causes heart attacks and strokes. In my Blaylock Wellness Report, I tell you all about important medical and health issues like these — issues that the corporate-owned media ignore or deliberately suppress. Plus, I give you practical, real-world advice about what you can do about health problems like heart disease, stroke and colon cancer — and how you can cheaply and easily take advantage of new discoveries. You can see for yourself by sending for your FREE copy of a popular special issue of The Blaylock Wellness Report called "What Drug Companies Don't Want You to Know About Heart Disease, Cholesterol and Obesity." In this easy-to-read special report, you'll discover some amazing medical breakthroughs that could make a dramatic difference in your health. Here's just a small sample of health-saving information you will gain in this exciting FREE report:

How the drug companies exaggerate how much statins lower heart attack risk by 36 times . . .

The truth about vitamins C and E (and it's NOT what you've heard in the media lately) . . .

Facts about a tiny killer known as VLDL — and how the American Heart Association diet causes your body to produce vast amounts of it . . .

The hidden link between diabetes and heart disease . . .

Why the same dietary disasters that encourage heart attacks also may cause Alzheimer's disease and cancer . . .

The hidden poison that food manufacturers now put in almost every type of food . . .

The sugar alternatives that are actually WORSE than ordinary sugar . . .

Foods that are proved to reduce the inflammation that causes many heart attacks . . .

A potent natural compound that studies show may dramatically increase longevity and reduce the ravages of aging . . . And lots, lots MORE!

7 reasons why you need mycutting-edge insider health reports I will gladly you send you this FREE special issue, "What Drug Companies Don't Want You to Know About Heart Disease, Cholesterol and Obesity," when you agree to accept a risk-free trial of my groundbreaking newsletter, The Blaylock Wellness Report. I honestly believe The Blaylock Wellness Report is unlike any other health newsletter you've ever seen. In fact, I'll give you 7 reasons why I think this newsletter is essential for your good health. Reason No. 1: You won't get the whole story on health and wellness — or anything else, for that matter — from traditional media (this is probably one of the reasons you're a Newsmax subscriber in the first place). Reason No. 2: You won't get the latest, unbiased disease-beating advice from your well-meaning friends and family members, or your favorite computer search engine. Reason No. 3: You won't get all the details from your own doctor, who probably also has been indoctrinated with the traditional medical model, based on drugs and surgery — and on merely treating symptoms, rather than finding an actual cure. Reason No. 4: I take no money from Big Pharma, the multibillion-dollar drug companies. Reason No. 5: I get no kickbacks on any health products or supplements he recommends to you. Reason No. 6: I refuse to bow down before the traditional "party line" of publications like the New England Journal of Medicine, which receives heavy financial "subsidies" from pharmaceutical advertisers. Reason No. 7: I thoroughly investigate health issues with an open mind and do not engage in the "pseudo-research" funded by the pharmaceutical industry. (Big drug companies seem more interested in pushing their costly and sometimes harmful drugs than objectively evaluating them for safety and effectiveness. Remember Vioxx?) Because I have no conflicts of interest, I can offer you pain-free dose of unbiased health and wellness information you probably can't find anywhere else!

I find the fiber menace and gut sense ideas interesting. I'm just not sure what

the suggested fiber amount is. Are they talking about bran and cereals. What

about fruit and vegetables- that are supposed to be good for you?

Yes PJ.. they're against the high carb (bran and cereal) approach most people recommend and all for lots of fruit and vegetables (healthy ones.. not potatoes & corn)

FYI.. I just read an interesting statistic while I was helping my son with research for a school project.

"Over 25% of all vegetables consumed in this country are in the form of FRENCH FRIES!"

How sad!

That's disgusting. I read Good Calorie/ Bad Calorie and Life without Bread. I

thought I was eating healthy, but I had bought into the low fat lifestyle. Look

where it got me.

SCD and the information I have learned on this board is an eye opener.

I haven't ordered or read the book yet, but I learned a lot about Fiber Menace from reading the 4 pages of reviews from Amazon.com. I'm definitely very curious and plan to order it, but haven't done so yet. We've only been on SCD for three weeks so I'm still super busy in the kitchen and I'm re-reading BTVC again at the moment :) ... all in due time :)

Funny thing was.. this past weekend one friend sent me the url for the Gut Sense book and my mother sent me the url for Fiber Menace (both books are by the same author). They both heard about our new food plan and started checking it out on the web. Normally I'd take 3 recommendations from 3 different sources in 3 days as a spiritual sign that I should read it right away, and I plan to, but I was kind of hoping my mom would buy the book then I can just borrow it ..LOL ..· ´¨¨)) -:¦:-¸.·´ .·´¨¨))((¸¸.·´ ..·´ -:¦:--:¦:- ((¸¸.·´*mom to , 18, cancer survivor with gut issues, SCD since 12/26

I had read the website and I was just wondering if you thought it would be worth reading the book J

That is pretty – wow J  I’d stumbled across the

website doing some research and almost bought the book but my husband talked me

out of it.  He sees tremendous improvement for me on SCD in a short time and he

doesn’t want me to make any changes ;)

But from what I saw on the website, I thought the ideas might

work nicely with SCD … since you mentioned it … I just thought I’d ask  … Maybe

your mom could read it for the both of us J

And probably another percentage is the catsup so many people put on

them!

Considering the vat of catsup some people put on their French fries,

maybe more than that!
