Guest guest
I have been suffering from moderate to sever panic attacks the last couple of weeks. Dr. prescribed xanax. Makes me sleepy but if I don't take it I go crazy. Chlaustrophobic , hot , cold , can't think , can't sleep , feel the need to walk but I can't because of the illness, anyone else suffer like this? How do you cope? Been living fine with this neurosarcoid for the last 3 1/2 years. The worst is over, I've been through 3 brain operations and a month in physical therapy rehab numerous spinal taps and mri's , prednisone , methotrexate . thank goodness it is spring here on long island and I can go outside, seems to be the one thing that can calm me. love an pece to all
Guest guest
Barbara, I'm sorry that you are having such problems. Have you talked to your doctor about possibly lowering the dose of Xanax, or trying another medication? You might also benefit from some behavioural modification, if your health insurance covers it. Guest guest
Dear Barbara, My name is Kathy . We have a few things in common, including symptoms and reatment. I have had this little monster for five years now. I have suffered the anxiety, great pain, I can't stand on my own, walk or even sit-up. I know how frustrating it is. I've taken all the same medications and I find that having an occupation helps the anxiety. I'm a graphic Designer andI can work at home. I don't know if this would work for you, but it did for me. I am now taking Wellbutrin and doing much better. Working and contributing to the support of my familyalso lets me feel more normal and less like a burden. It made all the difference to me. I still have all the effects of the illness but I am no longer depressed and I have my anxiety under control. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Dear Barbara and Kathy, I also have issues with anxiety. I have had sarc for 4 years and ever since with the pain and all the other symptoms, my depression and especially anxiety have been terrible. My psych dr. has understood all the problems associated with chronic illness and has prescribed several meds for me to take to help. I also take xanax and have klonopin for breakthrough panic and anxiety attacks. I also take a med for depression called cymbalta which also treats pain. I also have found that keeping my mind occupied by a volunteer position at my local library has helped. Its a good position because when I don't feel well, I don't have to go (since it's voluntary.) It is good to get out and interact with the staff and patrons to keep you feeling isolated from the world. Debbie T. Co-Moderator kathy_ceamoore wrote: Dear Barbara, My name is Kathy .
