Guest guest
Hi Eileen, Are you just trying to starve out the yeast or actively killing it as well? In my opinion, SCD works beautifully when you have anti-fungals on board as well. A lot of us (myself included) have such messed up systems that we cannot rid our bodies of yeast without some serious help. I am still nursing my baby girl (20 months) but plan to launch major war on the bad bugs once I'm done. GSE, Oil of Oregano, No Fenol enzymes and Caprylic acid work really well. My sympathies, - > > sorry but i can't stand it - I'm scd 2 years - no honey no fruit( but cooked berries ) low carb veges and I keep showing up with RARE and MANY forms of yeast in my stool - what is going on and why won't the diet/anti-fungals kill it???!!!!!! sorry neded to vent - I can tell doc is just as blown away by this as well - me and my ridiculous body!!! so annoying!!! makes no sense!!!!!!! > eileen 2 years scd >

That is such a bummer! D= I came across this bit of info on some person's website; they're trying to sell a yeast diet/supplement protocol like everyone else, so I didn't think you'd be interested in that, but this passage caught my attention:"When infected the entire immune system comes into play to eradicate the infection from the body if it is functioning normally. At first the systemic yeast infection can become infected, like a cut on the hand, and later becomes inflamed as it spreads. In an immune system compromised host the person usually becomes infected and inflamed, then the infected area will produce fluid as the infection worsens. The immune system being unable to contain the systemic yeast infection allows the infection to spread.Once the infection has taken control it is almost impossible to get rid of until you restore the immune system to normal function. Nk and kpuffer cells can kill a yeast cell in 1/100ths of a second, now they are not doing it. The immune system has become too worn down and doesn't have time, it is to busy doing other things more important for continued life."Maybe you need to focus less on killing and starving the yeast, and more on strengthening your immune system? Not sure how you'd do that, but anyways. This just caught my attention and I figured I'd post it for you to take or leave as you choose =)I hope you figure something out soon! There are other things, too, of course.

I take oil of oregano also when I feel I need it.I order mine (in capsules, 150 mg of OoO) from Lucky Vitamin online (www.luckyvitamin.com, in general a very good source for many, many brands of supplements; excellent prices and customer service). Currently the brand I'm using is Solaray. Oil of oregano is normally the oregano oil in a base of olive oil. Just read the ingredients to see what else may be in there; usually nothing illegal, but the capsules themselves may contain gelatin and/or glycerin. OoO is available in liquid form, but according to someone on one of my other lists, it's not terribly pleasant to take it that way; because it's pretty potent it can cause a sort of burning sensation as it goes done, and in the mouth. Guest guest
Thanks! I've ordered from Luckyvitamin before so I will check it out. A naturopath had given me a parabiotic (anti fungal, anti parasite, anti bateria) before but it had rice flour in it. I also broke out TERRIBLY everywhere including on my head, upper legs, chest and back when I took it. It was the craziest thing ever. I'm not even sure if it was a breakout or something else so after one month I stopped the supplement and started SCD. Becky- I had all the symptoms of yeast. See the " files " for a document on it. A naturopath had also done a stool and urine test for yeast. He gave me so much information it was overwhelming but I think I gathered that the stool test came back with a very low yeast count but the urine was very high. I'm not sure if that's right, but when I look at the results now that is what it looks like to me and I thought that is what he had told me. I also get terrible bloating, pain etc when I eat fruit or anything sweet (honey) so I believe that is another sign of yeast overgrowth. I think I've read on here that you can do your own testing through a lab by sending in samples on your own. The yeast I had was d-arabinitol as well as an overgrowth of d-lactate. Has anyone ever heard of these?? It says to avoid d-lactate producing probiotics. > >> > > > >> > > sorry but i can't stand it - I'm scd 2 years - no honey no fruit( > >> but cooked berries ) low carb veges and I keep showing up with RARE and > >> MANY forms of yeast in my stool - what is going on and why won't the > >> diet/anti-fungals kill it???!!!!!! sorry neded to vent - I can telldoc > >> is just as blown away by this as well - me and my ridiculousbody!!! so > >> annoying!!! makes no sense!!!!!!! > >> > > eileen 2 years scd > >> > > > >> > > >> > > > > > > > -- > Now available. Guest guest
Don't think the LDN would work with the yeast in the first place, since yeast blocks LDN. Guest guest
Where can you buy GSE, Oil of Oregano, etc?? I buy these at places like Vitamin Shoppe, Swanson Vitamins, Vita Cost, etc. All on-line. I haven't used GSE, but I do use oil of oregano. I have the liquid form, and yes, it IS strong. But I don't just put it under my tongue. I dilute in some water, usually. I figure hey, if I have anything trying to cause a sore throat it will take care of it on the way down. I usually will drink plenty of water or have some mint tea afterwards, though. (Maybe I do smell like pizza for awhile afterwards!)

Guest guest
It just didn't kick in right after I stopped the steroids. I was being all patient and letting it work slowly since I suspected it might take a while for the steroids to clear and for my immune system to switch over, but I got lots of small setbacks I had to work through and feeling tired a lot and I eventually realized, no endorphin boost, so I finally put two and two together that since it wasn't working right, the problem might be yeast, since yeast blocks LDN. (Not to mention my mental block since I was resisting coming to that conclusion.) And then I discovered that people get heightened yeast after steroids. But the yeast elimination diet is helping a lot. I'm definitely feeling the LDN working, at least to some extent, now. Mara > How do you know the LDN isn't working anymore? Guest guest
That makes me worried that I have a yeast problem. I don't have any overt yeasty symptoms, and tolerate fruit/honey just fine. We are taking s. boulardii (2 weeks now, so still working up on the dosage), to see if that helps. I am considering Oil of oregano for myself too. I think the coconut oil needs to be in the 3 TBSP/day range, I think, for it to be helpful.
