Guest guest
Eileen Have you had tests for your levels of pancreatic and liver enzymes? And levels of bile acid? Your body might not be producing enough enzymes in the upper GI to break down foods properly. The symptoms you mention are frequently discussed in my Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction support group.... I have my liver and pancreatic enzyme levels checked twice a year at least as part of having my dysfunctional upper GI. And might explain why you have more than usual problems with yeast and other microorganisms. But in that regard the status of your immune system also plays a role. If your body isn't producing the normal amount of enzymes in the upper GI, then food choices, which are great while on SCD, won't be making much difference to the symptoms/problem. Kim M.
