I fly to LA for my followup appointments with Dr. Anthone but I also have an excellent, local, general surgeon, (Dr. ), who has been keeping an eye on my progress as well. I printed out some of the information on the DS from the USC website and gave it to Dr. so that he will know what to expect, layout-wise, if he ever has to open me up. He's not as busy as Dr. Anthone, so I see him every two weeks or so. This system has given me a great sense of security. I can page Dr. Anthone for a DS-related phone consult 24/7, and if I ever have one of those really nasty complications that we don't like to think about, Dr. is only 15 minutes away.
