Guest guest
I just got done reading this book and I would say it was superb. Excellent read. The reason I'm posting it here is that he does a wonderful job of explaining the industiral agricultural scene, why carbs and especially the grains corn and soy are so cheap. Reading it through the lense of a SCDer was very enlightening. We are a corn-based society they say. I didn't know that MSG was derived from corn, who knew? I just wanted to let everyone know I loved this book. jonathan

Guest guest
Marilyn,I completely agree! Salatin (from Polyface Farm) travels around the country doing speaking engagements and educating communities about local farming options.I saw him speak this fall in my neck of the woods, and he was very funny, enlightening, and deeply moving. If anyone's interested in hearing him speak, you can get in touch via his website: http://www.polyfacefarms.com/:-) Nina in MA Omnivore's Dilemma by Pollan is a must-read, as far as I'm concerned!
