Well, I switched brands and it came out no thinner than cow's milk yogurt! I usually use Meyenberg " ultra-pasteurized " and it comes out really thin. When I tried Trader Joe's Summerhill it's thicker. and I just tried Redwood Hill Farm -- it's even thicker, like sour cream.
