The purpose of this forum is to help people follow the principles of SCD, and

bifidus is not allowed on SCD. This should not provoke a personal attack on

Marilyn. Her motive here is to share her personal success on SCD with those of

us wishing to follow it as directed.

There are many theories on diet, promoted by many with lofty degrees, including

my own GI physician who insists that diet does not matter. However, if that is

the case, then why have numerous people reported good results on SCD?

People with lofty degrees have brought us the war on cholesterol, low fat, high

fiber diets, and statins. However, controversy on these theories remain.

We are not blind sheep following any advice we hear, but people sincerely

looking and reading about how to stay as healthy as possible. I am sure there is

plenty of material about bifidus that we can read, and we will. Marilyn is not

depriving anyone of information when she maintains that bifidus is not part of

the SDC protocol. Anyone is free to consume bifidus, or anything else for that

matter. The only request is that whoever chooses to do so should not claim that

they are following SCD or state that SCD does not work. This allows the rest of

us to make decisions about SCD with accurate information.

I for one, am very grateful for Marilyn's advice.

rest of us, to further the SCD cause to help as many people as possible.

opinions and aims. " In my opinion your opinion doesn't mean that much these

days anyway. " and " So stop interfering and bring something useful to the

table. " are highly inflammatory statements that are deliberately hurtful and

completely unnecessary. They hurt your cause.

" http://www.mamaherb.com/acidophilus-with-bifidus " still does not present

scientific evidence, merely more opinion. So far I have yet see you cite any

SCD related scientific studies to defend your opinions, granted though, I seldom

continue reading your posts when you become anti-social in your statement, so I

may have missed something. Maybe starting a new group for this debate would be

helpful, that way only those wishing to improve SCD could carry on without

interference from those of us merely wishing to use SCD to better our health.

> You risk losing the respect of several people in this community with this

behavior. " So we will continue to have our informed decision debates. " is a

very good idea, so let us debate and not attack, please.

the slowly evolving evidence that was available at that time, which was many

years ago. Probiotic management and understanding has vastly moved on since

then.

>

> As I understand it from just starting at the beginning of my probiotic

journey, one of my concerns is that bifidus is the primary bacteria in the gut,

and the diet is designed from the way I interpret the SCD hypothesis to destroy

it, and that the only allowed probiotic we are advised to consume on the diet is

Acidophilus, which is not able to repopulate the primary bifidus area of the gut

of which the diet destroys amongst things.

>

> Use the following of many links to clarify the important role of both of these

probiotics in our modern times, and tell me why we should destroy our precious

primary bifidus supply in the large intestine by using the diet, and only

consume the allowed acidophilus probiotic which cannot repopulate that area.

> Therefore for if you are contradicting the global scientific current evidence,

then this may be considered to be irresponsible advice and could be damaging to

peoples health. Are you from a dietary qualified background connected to the

current research in probiotic management, if so do something useful and bring

them here, so we can continue our understanding of how best to protect ourselves

in these modern times. You are bringing cases to us from humble moms and not

from current medical studies. In my opinion your opinion doesn't mean that much

these days anyway.

>

> No one here is saying another should go out and consume bifidus or any other

strain, what people are talking about is providing current evidence and

information, so that we can make an informed decision, as we have no access to

official qualified SCD spokespersons qualified in these areas, and we are

therefore left to battle our way through outdated research. There is now also

evidence that just consuming one strain of probitoic is also an issue that needs

to be considered. So we will continue to have our informed decision debates.

> We are trying to have constructive debates in here based on medical studies

and factual and verifiable evidence. So stop interfering and bring something

useful to the table.
