Guest guest
I received a copy of some labs that were done recently and was surprised by Asenath's COQ10 levels. Her COQ10 total was 8.052 (ref. range .500-1.500) HIGH her COQ10 Reduc. level was 7.494 (ref. level .480-1.450) HIGH her Q10 Chol. index was 5.478 (ref. range .300-.800) HIGH and her COQ10 % reducd. level was .931 (ref. rage .940-.980 LOW Anyone know why these levels might be sooooo high? The numbers are high even though Asenath hasn't been able to keep the COQ10 down most days so I doubt it would be her taking too much of it, but I am open to your thoughts. I would ask Dr. Whiteman but he hasn't called me back and I have been trying to reach him for almost 2 months now!! Guest guest
Darla, 1st of all. what kind of Co Q10 is she on? Liquid? Caden's initial Q10 level told us he was deficient...Thereafter on "other" Q10's, his numbers remained low normal. AFTER switching to the liquid Qgel from Epic he NOW has High Q10 levels! Which I think is GREAT. Also, he achieved HIGH levels with a 50% cut in Q10! He was taking 100mg a day and barely maintaining low normal levels.. Ater we started the Qgel, at 100mg, he was bouncing off of the walls,......actually quite aggitated acting. We dropped it to 50mg because that was the ONLY thing different in his life.. Sure enough, it was the Q10 that was doing it! Soooo, now he actually shows elevated Q10 on HALF his dose. HE had the exact same pattern of numbers as Aseneth on his last test at Mayo in July after the change in Q10 (Qgel). All of the ones you said was high in her...the same one were high in Caden only in the 2.5 range. She must be getting more than he is. 50mg is actually a very low dose. Caden is very small though (to be 6.3 yrs old). Caden's COQ10 % reducd. level was .950 (ref. rage .940-.980) and fell into the normal range instead of being low like Asenth's but is very close to being low. So, not sure if this represents the ability to process it or what but curiously enough they have very similar results. Was Asenth's Q10 levels checked initially (before taking it)? Another thing....on MY initial Q10 check.. ALL of my numbers were low EXCEPT for the Coenz Q10 Chol. It was HIGH! My interpretation was a severe deficiency. Alll of my other numbers were really low though. I don't know what the Q10 Chol. stands for, do you? My interepretation also says they'd like me to attain levels of >4.0. So, Asenth's sounds really good, although I would like to know why the Q10 % red. levels remains low. My last check at Mayo, (on "other" Q10's) was just in the very low normal range. I'm very eager to see how it is NOW, since I'm taking the Qgel mega ( 100mg capsule ). I guess what I am saying, I am a true believer in the Qgel! Caden took Q10 for 2.5 to 3yrs and was never able to achieve high numbers. He started it mid Feb. this yr and by July he was up to high numbers! I wouldn't worry. I think those numbers are great. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.. but my interepretation di say that they wanted me to attain levels > (greater than) 4.0. Hope this helps some. I don't get to respond very often. Things are less than "smooth sailing" around here but I feel very strongly abuot the switch in Q10 and the difference it made. I can feel a HUGE difference when taking the Qgel! I have wanted to post this for so long and urge everyone to try it. You finally gave me a reason to post. Krystena R.
