Guest guest
We get our COQ10 Liquid from the Mayo pharmacy and I know Dr. Whiteman said we could trust the meds that came from the Mayo pharmacy were good and was pleased we were getting our meds there. Our COQ10 comes originally from Pharmacal Group, Inc. Asenath is supposed to takes a large dose daily because her levels were low before we began them, but I would have to dig the results up to know what all the levels said. She is supposed to get 210 mg per day, but with all the vomiting that she has and our moving around her meds to see if it makes a difference, she presently is getting about half that daily. My concern with her having that high of numbers is due to the note below the labs which indicated too high of levels could indicate several things including diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, and related cardiovascular disease, or may be as a result of the body's compensatory response to offset the effects of lipid peroxidation or other atherogenic factors. Not quite sure what the later part means. I am happy the numbers are higher rather than low for sure and I am wondering if maybe she is just not handling the volume of the COQ10 causing her to vomit so frequently. She seems to be nauseous all the time, but then after giving her the med, within one hour she will ogten vomit. It has been very frustrating as we changed from the pill form to the liquid AND added liquid Vitamin E around the time her vomiting began and we are trying to figure out if one or the other or neither is the starting cause of her cyclic vomiting. The nausea even before giving the meds makes me assume she still has an issue, but the oils in these two meds sets her off I believe. I HAVE to talk to Dr. Whiteman because if Asenath really needs this much she presently NOT getting it. But if she can get by with less that I think it would be best. Thanks for letting me know your experience with COQ10 and the similarities in our kids' numbers. I may look at Epic's COQ10 to see if they are actually the same or not. Her COQ10 total was 8.052 (ref. range .500-1.500) HIGH her COQ10 Reduc. level was 7.494 (ref. level .480-1.450) HIGH her Q10 Chol. index was 5.478 (ref. range .300-.800) HIGH and her COQ10 % reducd. level was .931 (ref. rage .940-.980 LOW Anyone know why these levels might be sooooo high? The numbers are high even though Asenath hasn't been able to keep the COQ10 down most days so I doubt it would be her taking too much of it, but I am open to your thoughts. I would ask Dr. Whiteman but he hasn't called me back and I have been trying to reach him for almost 2 months now!!
