Guest guest
I found out today that I've been approved for the BPD/DS. I have BCBS PPO and Dr. Gagner's office submitted on Tuesday and received my approval today. I'm so very grateful, however, I wish everyone of us who deserves this surgery would be able to get it. I'm not in a position to be able to self pay, even by flying to Spain. I believe I'll have to pay out of network costs of about $1,500.00 which I will willingly do. At one point, I thought I would fight for full coverage since there are no in network Dr.s who cover this, however, in light of all the insurance denials that have been happening...I will " quit while I'm ahead " . ===== from Upper Darby, PA BMI 63, age 41 Lap BPD/DS (possibly in 2 parts) Dr. Gagner - 9/15/01 __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, congratulations! I don't blame you for not wanting to push for full coverage in the light of recent happenings elsewhere in the BC/BS network! I hope my own BC/BS carrier (in TN) will have a change of their collective minds and approve my own surgery per Dr. Booth's appeal. --stella
Guest guest
I'm thrilled for you! May your success against the BCBS dragon be the first of many more for all of us! Which BCBS do you belong to? I'm gathering info in case I have to do battle. Marcia > Hope for us Blue Crossers! I'm approved! > > > I found out today that I've been approved for the BPD/DS. Guest guest
Congratulations , I wish you the best with your surgery and I hope to have the same luck with BCBS. Mine is still " under review " . That has been the answer for a month now. I had already recieved approval for a MGB but then the doctor was put on review so I wouldn't think it would be to hard to get approval for the DS. Well..the best of luck to you. Donna --- nsyncmom2001@...> wrote: > I found out today that I've been approved for the > BPD/DS. Guest guest
, I have just joined this group in hopes of getting help with BCBS/AL. I have been denied due to the fact that DS is investigational! Anything you ca offer as a suggestion would be greatly appreciated, Thanks! Echo > I found out today that I've been approved for the BPD/DS. Guest guest
Echo, I wish I could help but I just don't know. Dr. Gagner's office handled the insurance. I didn't deal with them at all. I was really afraid to call them and " jinx " myself. I will continue to worry right up until they put the mask over my face for my surgery. I have a fear of being wheeled into the operating room and the phone rings....It's the insurance company calling to say " STOP!!! WE'VE MADE A MISTAKE! " I just wish this surgery would be over. I figure once they do it...the insurance company can't take it away from me no matter what! I wish you the best. Perhaps you could contact Walter Lindstrom? --- echo98@... wrote: > , > I have just joined this group in hopes of getting help with BCBS/AL. > I have been denied due to the fact that DS is investigational! > Anything you ca offer as a suggestion would be greatly appreciated, > ===== from Upper Darby, PA BMI 63, age 41 Lap BPD/DS (possibly in 2 parts) Dr. Gagner - 9/13/01 __________________________________________________
