Guest guest
Alyssa, I am not sure if your achy legs are triggered by Epsom salt bath? All I know is they just helped me feel much better, maybe your achy legs is something other than the bath? From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of Alyssa Luck Sent: Friday, January 22, 2010 12:28 PM To: BTVC-SCD Subject: epsom baths? Yesterday, since I've been in a little mini flare, I took an epsom salt bath. It helped my belly cramping and discomfort a lot, but now today my legs are SO achy, and they weren't yesterday. I feel like the bath might've triggered it. Do you think the bath just aided in die off, and this is a further step to get to feeling better? I was going to take another one tonight, but I don't want to trigger MORE die off, since I have a party to go to tomorrow and want to feel okay. So I don't know if it would help or hurt. Any experiences like this? Thoughts? THanks! Peace =) Alyssa 15 yo UC April 2008, dx Sept 2008 SCD June 2009 (restarted) Chinese Herbs (not legal but helping!) Any experiences like this? > Thoughts? I can't imagine that it was the epsom bath - where are your legs achy? Is it shooting pain, like sciatica? Or are certain muscles achy? I would take another bath myself - and relax that as well. I imagine the pain is just another manifestation of the mini flare. Sometimes it works that way. Guest guest
I can't imagine that it was the epsom bath - where are yourlegs achy? Is it shooting pain, like sciatica? Or are certain muscles achy? I guess just the joints...not really muscles. Definitely not shooting pain. I just know sometimes when I do things that are supposed to help detox, like epsom baths, it can sometimes trigger more detox. But who knows, really, what's going on inside my body =) I think I'll take another one tonight and hopefully feel better tomorrow! Guest guest
This may sound odd but maybe make a paste and put it only on the bottom of your feet instead of jumping into an entire bath. I have tried the baths and had to come right back out to the restroom. I read on pecanbread.com about some of the moms using a paste on the feet--works for me. Just FYI if you want to try a lighter version and work your way up to baths. I haven't read the previous posts to see what happened, just this one. Guest guest
I am taking empsom baths daily. I started slowly (I think it was 5 minutes) and then longer and longer up to 15-20 minutes. A golden rule is to start everything slowly. I read somewhere else that if there is a lack of some chemical in the blood, the cells adapt by creating more " transporters " to bring that chemical inside the cell. Then if you provide a large quantity of that chemical, the cells absorb too much and go crazy. This can be avoided by starting low and slowly building up. Besides this, it seems that our healing process has ups and downs. Quite often I cannot tell if something is helping or harming me. All I know is that now I am much better than when I started. And I also know that I am still ill. I hope that there is more healing waiting for me in the future.
