Guest guest
I got the Sport type with the vented side panels. It's made by American Pride-- an extra large fits, but an 2x would be better. IT runs a bit small. I generally wear a 1X or mens Large. Get a sneak peak of the all-new AOL.com.
Guest guest
Tracie, which one did you get? I also did a search & found so many different types that I gave up. I ordered one, and love it! It's like the neck scarfs, but it a full vest. I put it in the sink with cold water for 10 minutes, wring it out, and then put it on-- it keeps me very comfortable for hours! We were out in the apple orchard last weekend for 4 hours in the afternoon sun-- and I was able to handle it! YEAH!!!!!!! **************************************See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
I noticed that several of you have just had the sweating (hyperhidrosis, if you want an official term) with steroids. I started it while on Pred & Imuran, but also when all kinds of whacky things were happening to my body. I think the Sarc monster & his minions were having a party at my expense. I've now been off the Pred & Imuran for almost 3 years & off Mtx for a year, but unfortunately the overheating & excessive perspiration have not improved. I believe that for me at least, it's from the sarc itself. The other day I had been outside with the kids & my niece. It was about 80 & everyone else was comfortable, but I had to go get the water hose & hold it over my head; just completely drenched myself. The weird thing is that it's mostly my head that overheats & drips; the rest of me perspires "normally," whatever that is. I needed to make a comment on the sweating.I thought I just sweat a lot because I am fat, but yes - the soluMedrol, coupled with the prednisone and methotrexate makes me a sweat machine. I am thankful that the right combination of drugs is keeping me functional, but so sad that I break out in a sweat...especially in public appearances. On the photo section, just added is the new promotional shot for my talk show and position at the tv station. I sweat so much during the photo shoot and was so embarrassed by the tracks on my arms, but folks understood and kept saying positive stuff. (Good for my faltering ego)Just had a meeting with the local Sarcoid Support group here in Youngstown/Warren Ohio and we found out that the Cleveland Clinic lost their grant for the Sarcoidosis Center for Excellence - DAMN! So much progress was happening simply in the way of support. More and more people in our community are coming forth with Sarcoidosis diagnosis and the support group is wonderful. We just lost a member, but we are happy that she is no longer suffering. Oh well enough from me, love you all and I read your messages often.MadonnaThe Oprah Wannabe See what you’re getting into…before you go there
Guest guest
Before this last major attack, I did have the sweats in the middle of the night and could not figure out why that was happening.Get a sneak peak of the all-new AOL.com. Guest guest
I had the sweats for years, and still do somewhat. I tend to run a lowgrade fever daily, due to the systemic inflammation. Guest guest
Rosie My "heat" is mostly in my head and neck also. I am constantly using a squirt bottle to soak myself down. It seems to be worse after a Cytoxan treatment. Summer has been alot easier since I moved to this apt where the a/c actually works! I also wake up very overheated. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get out much this year. When I do for anything other than a doc appt it seems like I tire very easily. Sarc sucks!grannylunatic@... Luggage? GPS? Comic books?
