Only when I had appendicitis. I

had heard that it was a symptom of appendicitis, and, for me, it was.

It may also be a symptom of gall bladder trouble, and with rapid

weight loss, that might bear looking into.

I hear it also happens with

pregnancy, but the closest I ever came to that was a kidney

stone.

YMMV

Judie,

This has happened to me (along with severe sweating) with a sudden drop in blood sugar. Are you diabetic?

Ah... one more thought. If it happens when you stand up, it

may be a rapid drop in blood pressure (hypostatic tension, or some

name like that). It passes in a few seconds.

:

Call your PCP and tell him/her that you need a script for Companizine or something of that type. I did not get mine from Dr.A as I did not want to disturb him and Lori my angel told me to get the script from my PCP, I called and had the script at home within the hour and my nausea began to improve from that day onward, I took one 20 mg tablet twice a day to start and after a month when I was eating and drinking better I reduced it to once a day. When I told Dr. A what I was taking he agreed that this was fine.

So I say again call your PCP if you are having trouble getting through to your doc, call your PCP and tell him/her that you need this script and that is fine for you to take it and hopefully the first brand will work and within a few days your tummy will be feeling better.

I agree that a lot of your nausea is probably being caused by the trouble your having eating and drinking. Dehydration causes severe nausea. You may have to go to your local emergency room and have them give you some fluids by IV, this may also help with the nausea and allow you to be able to eat and drink better thus allowing you to avoid becoming dehydrated again and you will feel so much better.

It sounds like you are in a vicious cycle, you are nauseated because you can't eat or drink and are dehydrated and because you are dehydrated you can't eat or drink, you need to break this cycle as soon as possible.

Get to the hospital now and get fluids into you.

Tiger

Judie,

I'm stumped! Sorry you are experiencing this. If it

helps to know, I often get slightly nauseous for no apparent reason at

all. It goes away in a few seconds. It happens just about

anywhere, and does not seem to depend on what I am doing at the time.

But, it is very mild for me and little more than a curiosity.

Maybe you should at least call your doc if this persists.

thanks Steve,

I guess its not a problem with the surgery as nobody else has experienced it this way except maybe you and even then its probably nothing. I go get my blood work done tomorrow so will ask my pcp and see what he says.

Judie--

Hi. I'm new to the list (scheduled for 7/23), could it be a twinge in the Vagus nerve? From what I've read, the nerve (it runs from the brain all the way down your body & it connected to digestion) cab become inflamed and/or irritated by the surgery and take several months to settle back down.

Just a thought...

my thoughts too Theresa....thanks for the input....its only happened twice and was so weird I had to ask. Probably nothing to be alarmed about. My pcp did not seem concerned.

,

everybody has given you their two cents on how to combat this nausea. If nothing is working then you just have to get yourself to the ER and get some fluids in you. You mentioned in another email you had been getting some fluids and food down so it sounds like you are able to do some of that.

You know what you have to do now.....get yourself to the ER!!
