Guest guest
All,I have read all the stuff on wiki and elsewhere, but either I am dense or just missing something. My question is this, if one's yeast issues have gone outside the colon -- systemic -- will the s. boulardii do any good? I know it works in the colon, but will it eventually address the rest of the body or do I need to be taking another remedy like oil of oregano?Amelia
Guest guest
Amelia Yeast, or candida albicans, live in all of our body's mucous membranes so they don't just live in the gut. However, taking a probiotic, which helps to restore the gut ecology, also influences the yeast levels throughout the body. The immune system also plays a role in dealing with the yeast levels in locations other than the intestines. So, yes, taking S. Boulardii or L. Acidophilus or eating our 24-hour yogurt will help deal with a yeast overgrowth. It also helps to adjust your food choices. And taking an antifungal, if your body tolerates it, will also help, if you feel your symptoms warrant it. Kim M. SCD 6 years
