Mom and I flew home commercial today after waiting several days and couldn't get an Angel Flight. It was quite the ordeal with the security search, wait and chaos. I'm really exhausted! I wasn't able to sleep much being away from home and the tests were terrible. I will have to return for the upper manometry testing as the doc. felt I couldn't handle anymore stress on my body at this time. I had an upper endoscopy with biopsies, colonoscopy with biopsy and colonic manometry. My colon looked "funny" it was dark and wet looking. It has some big scary name but the pathology report was benign. The colonic manometry showed some probs. but before a surgical consult is obtained I will have to have the upper manometry. As of now I'm to stay on my current meds and can take a stimulant as needed. I had my eyes checked by the neuro optho. and the mito hasn't affected my eyes so that was a praise. I do however have dry eye syndrome and am VERY nearsighted with poor tear ducts so he put me on gel med. for that. I met with my mito doc. and he is sending some muscle to Columbia for further testing. He is also going to treat my low glutathione with IV NAC. My gene test should be done anytime in Atlanta. This was by far one of my harder and more painful trips but I still feel that I did make some progress and hope that the leads will develp into something helpful in the end.
