Our doc thinks has strep throat... but were not sure yet as

he has no fever.

he has several blisters in his throat, and is clearly in alot of

pain. She thought initiallly it was a virus, but he has NO other

symptoms of a virus, actually no other symptoms period.

He had his muscle biopsy 9 days ago, but she said that even the

irritation from the tube in his throat would not have caused this,

its some sort of illness.

So we have 2 options. the initial swab results will be in today,

but wont necissarily tell us anything (in which case we wont know

till Monday). She gave us a perscription for antibiotics, and said

it was up to us whether we wanted to 'keep him covered' in case it

is an infection... and in case the initial results show strep.

Is it important to err on the side of caution with mito kids when it

comes to infections? because he has no fever, im not sure if we

need to start antibiotics just yet... is this reasonable, or should

we be cautious here and just use them?

any suggestions?

Im talking to the doc this afternoon, so we will have an idea of

what to do then...
