Guest guest
Hi all, First, Thank you Darla for the post it is much appreciated. TO update everyone, Theresa broke her femur Saturday night due to rough housing around our new pool. We do not know for sure why the femur actually broke and the Drs are looking into further testing to make sure it isnt more serious. She hit the side of the pool/cement very hard however so we are praying it is a " normal " break. She is doing better and slept through the night for the first time last night. We are happy that she already had her wheelchair however as if she did not we would not have been able to bring her home this soon. Her acidosis improved they felt it was just due to the stress and all of course. Our son , non mito but much more complicated than Theresa even, is just going for tubes to be put in his ears and for a sedated ABR on Friday. We would appreciate any prayers you could manage for him as well though. He does not tolerate anesthesia well becuase of his apnea and hypopnea. Luckily he is trached so it will be less complicated because of that. Our main concern is for his GI tract because every surgery he has had the anesthesia shuts down what little motility he has. He now does not have his med port due to an infection so we do not have means to give him TPN if this happens. Other than that please pray for our friend to come back. She left her three young boys with us and has not called nor come back since Friday (yes before the leg break and surgery) so we are juggling three very upset little boys along with all the other issues. We are praying she will be back today or tmr. She has had an extremely tough time and we have been helping her through alot with the boys and her abusive husband that she finally left but we knew she wasnt doing well and offered to watch them for her for a short time. However... she has not called once and not come back in almost a week now when we assumed it would be the weekend. So please put her on boys on your prayer list as well. Just as an add on... add me! Im scared of flying and am planning we find out the exact day tmr.. to fly to go pick up our new adoptive daughter. So on top of life being a bit hectic here... we are adding in our new daughter to the mix. We are overjoyed that this is finally happening as the paperwork has taken forever but I am still nervous about flying, leaving the kids (yes with their father but still), not being here possibly for s surgery (daddys never gone through being there during a surgery.. always home with the other kids as the sick child always wants mommy), and not knowing what to do with these three extra boys we have now either! I am also nervous about tranporting our new daughter on an airplane as she was vent dependent till just last year and has been on a CPap till just recently. So I expect an eventful flight with me probably bagging her most of the way. Wish me LUCK!!! Thanks for reading our update. Never ceases to amaze me how much we can actually get through all at the same time and still keep our sense of humor! Kimberley
