OPEN OR LAP?

Dr. Booth also does an " assisted lap " (according to what he told me during

my consult). It is 1/2 open and 1/2 lap. He said that the cut is only 4 to

5 inches plus lap ports. To me this would be the best of both worlds!! Has

anyone else had this? I would lean toward open over lap due to being under

less time. I had a C-section 20 years ago and was cut from my navel to my

hairline a LONG cut...I was also nursing so I couldn't have alot of pain

killers...and I may have a high tolerance for pain but I didn't find it so

bad.

jerry,

i read your e-mail with great interest!! i am pre-op

with dr booth also. my date will be in about six

weeks. until recently i was going to have lap but

after reading all the posts i'd almost decided on

open. i haven't discussed the 1/2 lap and 1/2 open -

that certainly sounds very appealing. my biggest

concern is being under the least amount of time.
