Guest guest
> brigit where is the nausea coming from? karen I sent you a private email about this last week, but I'll repeat it here. The BPD/DS surgery severely irritates the Vagus Nerve. The Vagus Nerve starts in your brain and runs along the length of the Alimentary Canal. In other words this nerve runs from your brain through your neck, down your esophagus, along your stomach, through your abdominal cavity right down to your anus. When the surgeon is cutting your stomach and transecting your bowels, this nerve becomes severly irritated and swollen. It affects numerous bodily systems, including your sense of taste. That is why you are so nauseated. Eventually the Vagus Nerve swelling and irritation will decrease, as will your nausea and your distored sense of taste. Hope this helps!
