Guest guest
Ruth, I'm glad that you are getting treatment for the shingles. I don't want to worry you, but remember that there is a percentage (I don't remember how many) of people with shingles who will continue to have chronic nerve pain, called post-herpetic neuralgia. If this happens, there are meds that help; I believe that Lyrica is the only one actually approved for this pain, but I think that some of the other meds for nerve pain also work. So if you have continued pain after the lesions have healed, get back in with your NP & ask about it. Hoping & praying you don't experience this. I started valtrex today after seeing my family practice nurse practicner. I am still scheduled to get the port put in tomorrow since I will only have to stop Remicaid until the patches from the shingles are all healed over. Mine are on my check, lips and the side of my nose...so far anyway. My eye doctor is so concern that I think I will be seeing him about every day to make sure they don't get in to my eyes. Thanks again for your concernTTFNRUth Play games, earn tickets, get cool prizes. Play now–it's FREE!
