Ortiz update and new poem.

Hi all, I am feeling a bit better now, still down sick somewhat, but I have gone back to work. It was just too much dealing with all we have been dealing with I think. My doctors have been amazed I have survived this long! Kira is doing a bit better but still in a deep depression. She continues to sleep for 15-18 hours a day. We are not too sure what the answer will be for her. We have tried to get her into a psychiatrist, but noone can get her in until Jan 2005 if you can believe that. It is so frustrating, because she is not saying she is going to kill herself at this time, she is not a priority. We are seriously considering sending her to my parents for about 6 months to get her away from all the stress and strain here and to be honest, give me a bit of break, which I have not had in 14 years at all. I am struggling with feeling like I have failed her, but when the doctors can't or won't even help her either, I don't know what I am supposed to do as her Mommy! The other two are back up and running.

Thank you to all who have been checking in on us. Enrique said he even posted to the list once! That's a total miracle let me tell you! LOL I am way behind on E-mail and may just start from today if there isn't anything too important. Does any one know what happen to the Mito Memoir Books? I thought they were going to be sent out a few weeks ago, but I have not received mine. Did I miss something? Anyway thanks to those of you who have sent Kira cards and all. She has truly loved getting the extra attention! I will fill you all in on more later. I wanted to share with you my latest poem. I was chosen one of the best 200 poets of the year on Poetry .com! LOL Little do they know I am just writing about my life! LOL Hope all are well.

My Shoes For Just One Day

For all the Moms of ill children. You are heroes!

Full of their wisdom for my life,

Not caring they cause me overwhelming strife.

People's two scents they do give,

On how my life I should live.

Make your children go out and play,

Tell the doctors you want it this way.

This medicine you should give,

Go to "this" doctor if you want them to live.

Are you sure that is best for them?

A better diet you need for him!

I'm running from here to there,

Wondering if God hears my prayer!

A Mom of ill children is who I am,

Why do I have to put up with your slam?

God gave me these babies to raise,

I need not condemnation, but praise!

Walk in my shoes for just one day,

See if you don't change what you say!
