<< An interesting article in Slate http://slate.msn.com/Economics/01-07-

last year, Professor Cawley found that an extra 65 pounds

typically cost a white woman 7 percent of her wages. To put this

another way, if you're a seriously overweight white woman, losing 65

pounds is likely to be as lucrative as an extra year of college or

three extra years of work experience. "

evidence for it! Thanks for the link.

,

The quote about the cost of being fat is part of an article about the

economic consequences of being ugly. Obviously the authors consider

the link between fat and ugly to be such a given that they don't even

have to state it explicitly.

Maybe we could use the study to sue insurance companies that refuse

to cover WLS for economic discrimination or interferring with

employment ;-) After all if the study is correct WLS not only causes

you to lose weight, you also automatically gain education and

experience LOL!

Lee

Maybe we should

Wow, how interesting -- that ugly is automatically linked with being fat.

Very sad, too. Man, I sure have a lot to look forward to once the rest of

this weight is off, yeah? ROFL

But, chances are, if there is a clear link that surgery would provide people

with a better life, they'd deem it 'cosmetic' and not cover it at all! Such

is their logic... hmmm...

all the best,
