Guest guest
Debra: I must have missed the terrible things said about Dr. Drooker. I live in MD and traveled to NY for my surgery. I met with Dr. Drooker on the same day that I had my initial consult with Dr. Gagner and his nutritionist. My husband was with me and Dr. D. invited him in for the session. I thought that we had a rather rational and calm discussion, where he asked me some things about my history with my weight and I am sure questions that pertained to my attitude toward my future. In other words what was my realistic expectation of the trials and tribulations toward this surgery. I was not at all put off by him and he was very congenial and pleasant. I was not intimidated or in any way threatened by him. I had decided to use his services because I recognized that he was familiar with Dr, Gagner's program. I knew that if I went to a local doctor I would spend most of my time explaining the what and wherefore of the surgery, since so many are not familiar with what it entails. I felt that seeing him I bypassed all that BS and got down to the business at hand. Which was, to find out if psychologically was I a good pre-op and post-op candidate for this lifesaving drastic change I was about to embark to my life. I wanted to tell you my experience and I can truly say that many post-ops that no longer participate on this list all had about the same experience that I did. I am very surprised that anyone had a bad experience with him. You may want to consider or ask the group their opinion of him again and see what response you get. Guest guest
> I had my consult with Dr Drooker prior to my surgery and found him to be straight forward and candid. I was neither put off by him nor did I have anything but a pleasant meeting with him. I wish people would stop being so negative about him without having met him. People are different and have different outlooks and perspectives. They are entitled to those perspectives. However that does not mean that your experience with him would give you the same perspective as someone else.
