Guest guest
Thank you christel, tammy and alexis. I will have to keep all of this in mind. My nt daughter was on nystatin (yes we compound all meds) for a few months and it seemed helpful for awhile (my son was ok I think on it but his clostridia flared then it wasn't strong enough for flagyl). At first, we had some clostridia flares with her too which we treated with flagyl and sporanox and then we had her on nystatin for a few months without any antibs. She seemed to be doing well so I stoppd but she has become more sensitive since then -- I am thinking due to seasonal allergies though....anyway Her last clostridia marker on her oat was ridiculously hgih (3000) but we didn't treat bc I didn't see the point of giving her endless flagyl that seems to work only temporarily esp during allergy season... I am also wondering if her phenol sulfur issue had anything to do with her high marker bc I was trialing zinc sulfate at the time of her oat which gave her diarhea. Now waiting for our latest oat results but not sure how we will treat them yet. I am feeling like attacking the yeast and bac directly hasn't really worked so hoping that going at the high hhv6 titer with valtrex generic will help boost my son's immune system enough to tackle yeast and bad bac. It seems like they are both seesawing between yeast and clostridia (ie overtreat one and the other flares) but it is better than last year. My daughter also has the high hhv6 titer but I haven't decided yet how aggressive to treat her since she doesn't have dev issues (at least not yet and she is almost three).By the way, does anyone know good dans or other specialising in autism and immunology (besides goldberg) who will treat patients via skype/phone? I would love to look more into antivirals, ivig or oral ig, and pandas/pans/parasites/allergies. These areas don't seem to be the "specialty" of my current dan.-- Sent from my Palm Pre megan when you do fluconizole do you compound it? if not it has lactose, red 40 and gluten in it From: alexis_d3378 Sent: Saturday, June 16, 2012 4:40 PM To: mb12valtrex Subject: Re: Yeast Hi ,Nystatin has a bacterial origin. I asked this question to my dan also and he dismissed it as he doesn't believe that the body identifies it as strep. From my own experience, nystatin was very tough on my kid. But he doesn't do well on diflucan either. I see ocd worsening, tantrums and mood swings every time I start even the diflucan. Now fluconazole is a synthetic antifungal and I couldn't find a relation to streptomycetes. Still while my son is on fluconazole, he gets more pandas like symptoms. I think even Dr Swedo may not have the answer to that. A lot of doctors don't even believe that strep thermophilus in yogurt triggers the same immune response in children predisposed to pandas. I don't think I helped in any way by discussing all this but it would be good for everyone to learn more about it and if there are parents who have figured this out, please share. is> > > > > & nbsp; > > > > we LOVE this product, have used it for years. there is > a power punch to it since there are so many fighers in there. & nbsp; so even if > you are only sensitive to a few you are bound to get the boogers. & nbsp; the > other beauty of this is many things you fight the yeast you create bacteria or > fight bacteria and you get yeast. & nbsp; this one has a great balance to get > BOTH in one swipe> & nbsp;> > > > > From: > Sent: Thursday, June 07, 2012 9:27 AM> To: mb12valtrex > > Subject: Yeast> > & nbsp; > > > I was going to try Kirkmans yeast aid and wanted to know if anyone has > tryed it. Guest guest
theres a great product called 'Intestaclear' by Orthoplex. We tackled yeast for a long time but found it impossible to eliminate all grains and do the SCD as our children have fructose intolerance and therefore had already limited diets. This product is an anti-fungal anti iral anti bacterial and even fights worms. it has done wonders with both children. These areas don't seem to be the "specialty" of my current dan. -- Sent from my Palm Pre megan when you do fluconizole do you compound it? if not it has lactose, red 40 and gluten in it From: alexis_d3378 Sent: Saturday, June 16, 2012 4:40 PM To: mb12valtrex Subject: Re: Yeast Hi ,Nystatin has a bacterial origin. It was isolated from Streptomyces noursei which is a bacterial strain. If you dig more into it, streptomycetes give rise to amp B and other antibiotics even the clavulinic acid part of augmentin. Now I am not sure if after all the biochemical process of preparing these antimicrobials, strep strain persists or not or if changes at all. Is it just die off or a more serious issue like immune dysregulation/pans resulting from the antimicrobials. Now fluconazole is a synthetic antifungal and I couldn't find a relation to streptomycetes. Still while my son is on fluconazole, he gets more pandas like symptoms. So is it what yeast die off looks like in some kids or these antimicrobials cause more immune dysfunction or even trigger pandas because of their origin? Guest guest
Oh dear,I would hate for others to make arrangements to go out there for those particulars and be very disappointed. Please report back if there are 2 Dr.s by the same name. This Dr. goes by the office name of "Allergy Link". Thanks Ruth  Hmm.  Thanks for letting me know that. WEird. I have a good friend whose relative has two family members with lyme and they recommended him to me saying he was one of the best in the country, cutting edge, etc. for lyme.  Sorry.  I don't have personal experience with him, but was going on their recommendation.
