Guest guest
17# in 3 days sounds a little high. I need to put a disclaimer here, this may have more to do with me then with you. I had congestive heart failure 2 years ago. I was told that if I gained more then a pound a day for 10 days (excluding that time of the month) or gained more then 10 pounds in three days I was to get to my doctor like now. I actually gained 31 lbs in 28 days and later 31 lbs in 5 days. Both times was enough to put me in the hospital. The other thought was about your thyroid, have you had it checked recently? Guest guest
I don't do the drinks either, but the food protein thing wasn't working. That is why I am trying this. Fay

Guest guest
Well, first, I think you should rule out mechanical problems...staple line disruption, stretched stoma, stuff like that. As far as not doing protein shakes, is it because you just feel you can get all your protein from food or that you can't stand the taste of them? If it's the former, there's no reason you can't join us, because all we're doing is trying to shock our systems into the weight loss mode again. And, we're doing it the healthy way by feeding the muscles, rather than starving them. The added benefit, if we continued this for a few more days, is possibly shrinking the stomach again, detoxing the sugars out of our systems and resetting our dump-o-meters. But, one day at a time. Think about it. If you don't want to try it this time, then wait and see how we do, and you can bet dollars to krispy kremes, we'll be doing this again some time. ) in NJ ********************************* In a message dated 4/11/2003 9:59:51 AM Eastern Daylight Time, dulcidog@... writes: > I'm a little jealous of the POC. Guest guest
Yep, I was definitely freaking out. Had really swollen feet and hands to go along with it. I started my period and lost the puffiness and 5 lbs, but that doesn't explain the other 12. I spoke to my surgeon a couple of days ago and he said it could be one of 3 things. 1) internal constipation (which he says is different from regular constipation, 2) an internal hernia - he wants me to have a CTscan done asap - says that can be life threatening or 3) what he's leaning towards - some kind of " weight rejection " . He says it is common with people who reach their set weight rather quickly and then stay there for about 6 months. Basically if I understand it correctly it's my body fighting the low weight. Although I may not BE too thin, my body doesn't like it here. I've had an enormous appetite and stay hungry ALL DAY. I can't eat much at a time, but 30 min after I eat, I'm hungry again. Been having the hypoglycemia thing too. With all that said, I plan to have the CT scan and some labs done, but my instincts tell me what is really going on here is out-of-wack hormones, eating too many carbs, stress (my husband got laid off his job last week), and quitting smoking. That's enough to mess anyone up don't ya think? I really think I need to just " get a grip " and do what I'm supposed to do, and stop whinning about it. Thanks for listening... I'm seriously thinking of doing a day of protein detox, yanno, just shakes & water. Can I do it, even for just 1 day?
