Guest guest
Bambi, ask your doctor the risks of dying of an obesity related disease. Then compare that vs the risks of the surgery itself. Good luck! Laurie __________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - Make it your home page! http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs

He said at 65 I am at very high risk. I have diabetes too which he said was very high risk. He predicted so many problems that I found myself really scared. Can anyone give me advice? Guest guest
The surgeon Dr. Baggs at Richmond did the same thing to me. I was 270 pounds when I started this program, was at 242 the first time I met the surgeon, and he said because I was 49 and had so many health problems, I must have my surgery before my 50th birthday or I had a 50% chance of dieing. I almost died from a surgery once in my life already, and this scared the SH__ out of me. So I was determined to hurry up and get this surgery done. I had already lost the 10%, but I run a business (daycare) out of my house and when I closed for surgery would not be getting any disability, so I needed enough money put away. I waited until I did, but will saving I keep pushing my self to take off more weight. Then when I met Dr. Baggs the second time I was 232 and he said this improved my surgery. I had surgery Apr. 11th, 2005, I went in at 228 and now I'm 143 and have improved my health so much. So weigh the pro's and con's, but for me I would of died without the surgery, so I took my chances, and I'm so happy I did. Good Luck to you. Donnabambiwoodward wrote: Hi. Guest guest
> Hi Bambi: I am 62, birthday 10/6, I think that this age thing can be a issue. Dr. Fisher - Richmond, told me that because of my age and the fact that I retain water in my legs.,he will only do Open as it does not take as long and he wants be off the table as soon as possible. Now that is a concern....I am at my goal 300 and after reading your post, going to work real hard at losing more before the surgery date. Good luck and keep me posted - Us Senior Citzens must stick together. Luci > Hi. I am still losing another 11 pounds before the surgery. My doctor > really scared me.
