Guest guest
Hi everyone, This is your invisible other Owner speaking! :-) Just kidding......Hello to all the " old " members and Hello and Welcome to all the " new " members. For those of you who do not know, I have been very ill for the past 15 months or so and was in the hospital for nearly 3 months last summer. This whole past 15 months has really been an eye opener and a learning experience. I was in Critical Care for 3 months and on ventilator twice -- once was 10 days and the other time was a couple of days. They called the family in 4 times because they did not think I would make it. I had been starting my Remicade and had 3 sessions when I had a sarc attack and was so sick that my immune system could not do anything and I was hit with histoplasmosis. This can be deadly and I almost did not make it. My specialists said they had never seen anyone as sick as I was that survived the illness. I had lots and lots of prayers going for me all across the US, Canada, and some overseas..........I had exceptional support from my family and never would have dreamed they would react as they did. When I came out of the coma (10 days), all my children, their spouses, grandchildren, sister and her husband, were all there! When I first woke up I saw them all and thought I had died....really. My 5 children all took turns staying with me and I was never alone at night.... they also kept a daily journal of ALL that went on with me -- even Doctor visits, meds, illness, etc. It was scary but wonderful reading all that........and one of my son-in-laws had it printed into a paperback book for me. The hard part is when I first awoke, all I could move was my eyes.........I had to learn to talk, walk, lift my arms, move my body, move my hands, write, eat, drink, etc. I could do NOTHING except move my eyes. It was very hard, and it hurt a lot, but it was worth it. I am not fully recovered, but the Doctors said it would take at least a year or so. I still have trouble with my legs and my arms and fingers. I have trouble getting up from a low seat or the floor also. But......hey, I am 67, so I will never be like a 20 year old again. I am sorry this is so long, just wanted to tell you all about my loooooonnnnngggg year! I also want to tell you all how grateful that I am to have such a super co-owner and all the great moderators! Tracie, Debbie, Rose, Theresa........they ALL Did great and continue to do so. I am proud of them and proud to be part of this " family " . I do have one sad thing to report.......my son and his wife have waited 13 long years for a baby and they are expecting one in November........(WHICH IS WONDERFUL!!!!) but they had an MRI done and it seems our little girl has a hole in her heart. I would ask that everyone say a little prayer that she is healed before birth or shortly after. They are both 37 so their Doctors have been doing lots of tests on them. Hugs, Darlene no longer the " missing " Co-Owner/Moderator :-)

Guest guest
Dear Darlene, Wow what a story. I'm still thinking of you. It's good to hear from you. I don't check the mail from the ns-group everyday but I cannot without the group...already for more than 5 years now. When I have the time and mood to read and write I'll send you and all the other ns-friends my big hugs from the Netherlands. Darlene, be strong, you are! Take Care and Carpe Diem! A very big special hug from the Netherlands over the big ocean to you from Yvonne > > Hi everyone, > This is your invisible other Owner speaking! :-) > Just kidding......Hello to all the " old " members and > Hello and Welcome to all the " new " members.
