Guest guest
This is excellant! I'm so glad that the judge has the common sense to do what the medical examiners should have done 4 yrs ago. We do have to keep hanging on, and not give up-- it does come together, eventually. Take care, and so glad to hear that you are going to be able to get the medical care you deserve. Hugs, Tracie NS Coowner/moderator

Guest guest
This is wonderful.......I just got a letter from my attorney today saying that my hearing will be coming up soon. Its been 3yrs since I first applied. I'll take any help or hints anyone can give me to help me get through the hearing. Kimber > > Great news group. I am very excited today. Guest guest
Kimber, Usually one hearing will do it. Just make sure that you concentrate on the things that you cannot do, not the things that you can do. Thats what they did with me, like,,,"can you type?, can you carry files in the office?, my answer, yes, if noone is in any big hurry for the report to be typed, and if I don't have to walk far. Then my question to them,,,"will my employer hold my job for me when I am off and in bed for days? or will they let me work only part time when I need to? I did win my hearing, but unfortunatelym it tool 18 months for a decision. Good luck, and stay firm in your words. Guest guest
Hi Kimber and group It is helpful if you can get letters from people that know how you condition affects you. I had my mom and sister to write letters for me and took them along. My if you can get statements from people you worked with or your doctors saying how this condition affects you that would be helpful. I am sure all of your medical record will be there but you can request to see what is in you file and add it when you go. I took along a pamplet on sarcoidosis to give them an idea of what it does. Then all I did was tell the judge that I am very tired quickly, I have trouble seeing at night due to how the sarcoids affects my eyes, and memory loss etc. I am so happy though that I can finally breathe a little. I was so afraid that I would be denied again that I waited a day to open the letter when it came. I was so surprised to find the decison that read FULLY FAVORABLE but at first I didn't quite understand it but it didn't say denied so that was great. So I hope this helps and that you are able to win also. So glad to have this group. Shauna in atl. Don't be flakey. Get Yahoo! Mail for Mobile and always stay connected to friends. Guest guest
Congratulations Kimber, I know what a rough hard climb this is . Stressful waiting and all. I took me about 3 years too. Getting a lawyer was the best thing I ever did. My suggestions on the hearing is making sure you and the lawyer have all the paperwork you can get on dr records, records of appts, lab tests, hosptial stays and so on , but he probably already has them? Getting letters from from friends, former employers, or current employers, professionals who have seen you as in personally all to record the changes they have noticed in your physical health and motor skills health in the past years that you have been stricken with sarcoid. I know I was so nervous , but my lawyer turned out to be so good I didn't even have to go before the judge. He handled it all before me. I think I have rattled on enough. But I hope this all helps you and let me know what happens. I sincerely hope you win your case.
