,

My hubby and I split a Mcs cheeseburger when we were 10 days out....we were also eating soft tacos and refried beans with cheese from taco bell.....when you start eating the "good foods" it will go so much better. Just eat what appeals to you....eat slowly and chew well for the first few weeks and you will be ok. I dont see anything wrong with trying small bites of tenderloin if you chew it throughly.

When can I graduate to real foods?

Hi, I was switched on 6/12. I have been staying on soft foods, but really havn't been getting much in. I have no desire for anything in particular and when I eat it is just a couple of spoonfuls. I feel good, but know that won't last if I don't start getting in more nutrition. When do you think it would be ok to try "real" food. My family is having beef tenderloin tonight, I thought that might be a good thing to try. It is lean with a lot of protein. I am thinking if I can start eating something substantial I might do better, but I don't want to push it and get sick. When did some of you start adding things back to your diet. I don't like seafood, I know that would be the best way to start.

Thanks for the advise.

After a couple of weeks I went back to regular foods. I never really had a

problem with anything at all after that. Just make sure to chew your food

thouroughly. It's just trial and error, you will see what agrees with you and

what doesn't.

Hi , I was switched on 6/12 and have added real foods to my diet. I do try to avoid red meat but have been successful with other things. Gwen

Within a week of my switch I was eating Chinese chicken and stringbeans. Within a month, I made these great country ribs with a light bar-b-que sauce, they were great.

If you really crave something give it a try. Take small bites and chew good since your stomach is use to soft food, and eat very slow Don't try more than one new food each day. Moist food is much better than drier ones. If that tenderloin is dry, some gravy would help. It's trial and error, and remember don't overload your stomach.

I have found that my body tells me when it is ready to try something

new. For six weeks, I just " knew " --felt it in my bones, as it were--

that I was not ready for raw veggies, e.g., a salad. Then, in the

seventh week, I craved a salad and tried it, and it was OK. Listen

to your body.

I agree with you about listening to your body. After I was switched I craved Liver and Spinich terribly, as soon as I was put on Iron the cravings stopped. When I started with the urinary tract infection bout I craved Avacodo's, I looked up urinary tract infection in my nutritional healing book and it said one of the most important foods to eat was avacado's. I used to crave fish badly, my Dr said it was because I must lack a paticular vitamin that was contained in fish. When I lack in protien intake I crave chicken all the time. So I agree, listen to your body.
