Guest guest
What kind of oil? I have noticed nausea with safflower, grapeseed and the other popular one most use to make mayo with. Vegetable oil also. Hope he feels better, debbie 40 cd Maybe if he had these foods in moderation?
Guest guest
With all foods, moderation is the key, even if they are legal. I also don't tolerate too much fat, onions, or garlic. The latkes sound delicious. It was probably that he ate a lot of them. Guest guest
So is it likely too much oil, or too much onion?I've never had oil issues, but I still can't eat onions. If it were me, I'd definitely say onions, but I know fried things can be harder to digest as well. Maybe both? Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds! Guest guest
I tend to get sick if I eat too much fried food, regardless of what is being fried. It tastes great but it's not really the healthiest thing . Stacey > > Last week, I made DH some SCD latkes (fried of course) and he loved them so much that he at a LOT of them. That night, he felt awful. I was confused because there was nothing in the latkes that he hadn't eaten before (zuchini, carrots, onion, DCCC, all fine for him). Thought maybe it was just coincidence, or a 3 month flare. > Last night, I made onion rings. Same thing. Loved them - ate a LOT. Guest guest
Thanks, guys. I guess I"ll just have to make sure he remembers everything in moderation. He's not very good at that. I wonder about the oil, Debbie. The latkes were in olive oil, but the onion rings were grapeseed oil. It was actually the first time I've used grapeseed oil and he felt a lot worse last night than he did last week. Of course, it could be the onions too. Moderation, moderation...we need to work on that... To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Wed, December 23, 2009 11:56:02 AMSubject: Re: too much oil? Onions? What kind of oil? Guest guest
My guess is the oil. I have not fared well with fried foods, especially when I over indulge. We have a rule in our house. Fried foods only once a week. Our guilty pleasure is chicken fingers and carrot curls. I hope he's feeling better. - > > Last week, I made DH some SCD latkes (fried of course) and he loved them so much that he at a LOT of them. That night, he felt awful. Guest guest
He IS doing better today, thankfully. Funny thing is that I RARELY make fried foods. So I guess when I do fry something, we tend to go overboard. To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Wed, December 23, 2009 7:50:32 PMSubject: Re: too much oil? Onions? My guess is the oil.
