(I mix it with plain Dannon because I find the Fage too bland; I like the little extra kick of sourness the Dannon gives, but Dannon on its own is very sour.)n -- Now available. Is it considered legal or not? It's definitely legal, but doesn't contain acidophilus. And one of its strain is useful only as a producer of yogurt, but has no known role as useful in the gut, I recently read. So you may wish to add some acidophilus to the starter for the full beneficial effect. Mara
Guest guest
I just realized my Gi prostart starter does not contain acidophilus, but scdophilus does. Is it best to use both? Guest guest
Interesting, because I had started taking the scodophilus this past week because I had overcooked my yogurt and figured I might have killed off too many bugs. Maybe this precipitated a die off. PJ > >> > >>> I've been using the greek Fage yoghurt as a starter and it juts occurred to me that it may or may not contain the right strains. Guest guest
I use a combination of Fage and Erivan (this is an excellent yogurt that someone on this group recommended). It contains acidophilus only and is available at Whole Foods. - > > I've been using the greek Fage yoghurt as a starter and it juts occurred to me that it may or may not contain the right strains.
