Re: CCF bill

I actually got the rejection from the insurance company, but it stated it was because CCF did not send any supporting paperwork for the admitting. We use CCF for all of our children's routine, and specialty care. Within the past year we have had so many problems with them. The worst, so far, is that we received a bill for 16,500 dollars for a time Grace was covered by 3 different insurance's. They are successfully ruining our credit, and causing me many headaches. We are constantly battling with them over stupid things. They are now trying to send a bill from 1997 to collections in my current husbands name. HE DID NOT EVEN KNOW WE EXISTED IN 1997. I have sent copies of court records countless times trying to show them that my previous husband, the chills father, is responsible for the bill and not me or my new husband. I still receive stupid bills from them, when even now all of our children have excellent primary and secondary insurance's, we should not have to pay any out of pocket. If it weren't for the great medical care, I would go elsewhere. Sorry for the long vent, it is just so frustrating.

Thanks for the advise. I may have to resort to this method, but I really should not have too. If CCF would send the bills to the correct people, and include the information the insurance requests there would be no bills outstanding. I really do blame them on this, and I am hoping I will not have to resort to hiring an attorney to resolve this. We are going to have to go to mediation about my oldest daughters bill, though. My ex husband already is 29,500 dollars behind on child support, and knows about this bill, just choosing not to pay. I am hoping that the mediator can make CCF put the bill in his name, not ours. Thanks again.

> , I have had alot of problems with the CCF billing.

spent months in the local hospital here and no problems. if we ever

go up to CCF they always try to cheat the insurance company. We have

100% coverage for in patient services but they always try to bill

things seperately. I have had a lot of words with them(most not so

nice so I won't repeat them here). I would call Cohen's office and

leave it in his lap. He is the admitting doc, right? He should be

writing a letter explaining this to the insurance company. We used

to have dehydration fought, but now it's not a problem.

Good luck, Dawn

,

>Have you requested the info the insurance company would

>like to pay for the admit. If not call ins ask specifically what they

>want then contact med records.

Just a warning--when I requested records from Cleveland Clinic's medical

records dept. to be sent to me, they charged me something like $28 for

about 15 photocopied pages! This might be different if you ask that the

info be sent directly to your insurance company, but I'd suggest you ask

to make sure. BTW, when I got records directly from the CCF doctor, I

didn't pay anything.

Good luck,
