Guest guest
Jenn, I had/have this also. I am 3 months post op, and if I forget to take my medicine, I get it again. I'm hoping one of these days it will go away. I started off with Tums, that didn't work so I started taking Pepcid. It worked okay but didn't relieve the problem totally, so my surgeon prescribed Prevacid, and it does the trick. Usually I only have to take one every other day. I would suggest calling your doc to see if he can get something for you if the Pepcid doesn't work..... The acid reflux will get WORSE if you don't take something, and that's no fun! :-( Kim B. Guest guest
Sounds like reflux to me, too. DO NOT LET THIS CONTINUE! Long term effects of reflux are scary. Talk to your Dr. about Prevacid or Prilosec. Hopefully, as you lose weight, the problem should be mitigated, but there is no reason to live with it now. Tums Ultra (i like the tropical flavor, even if they do use artificial sweeteners). Pepcid Complete. Zantac 75. Mylanta. Etc. All over-the-counter. Or, get an Rx from your doc for something like Prilosec or Prevacid or Zantac (prescription strength). >It's really annoying and uncomfortable. I'm about 2 1/2 weeks post-op. Not fun.
