I feel like I am doing all I can and can't seem to get rid of these pesky 6 pounds I have left!!! Perhaps it's all mental - perhaps I just don't feel like they are coming off as fast as I would like. I am not eating more than 1200 calories a day, in fact, most days I try to stay under 1000! I know Im not doing as well as I should be with my water - but I am trying and getting in at least 48 oz if not the whole 64. Other than the water, is there any advice anyone can offer?

Thanks! Barbara (LTLJSMOM)

Hi Colleen,

well Im not gaining - I dont think. The scale moved up about 3 lbs. but I was ovulating so I figure it had something to do with that. I am going weigh again tomorrow. I started swimming in hopes that would kick those last pounds off of me. So far I have went twice last week and I should be able to make it twice this week plus I will swim while camping this weekend.

I was walking, but I started a 2nd job and just cant find the time to do it. How horrible is it that I can't seem to find just 10 minutes to do something like that for myself. But I take about an hour to swim in the evenings (when I make it) so at least that is something I am doing for myself.

It's just frustrating because it seems to be going so slowly, but really I have lost 22.5 lbs. since 7/5/05 - so to stand back and look at it - I guess I am still doing ok.

Thanks!

Make sure you are eating ENOUGH calories so that you don't put your

body into starvation mode. I had to be really careful about that. I

couldn't go below 1200 calories or I wouldn't lose an ounce. Drink

water, exercise, and eat enough. That's my only advice. Good luck!

Hang in there! It will come off.

of course you are doing OK ! its just too hard to be patient about these things, I am still impatient with myself over these kinds of things but not like i use to be. Like you said when you look back instead of being impatient with the present you see things you might not have seen before, like today a woman came in to pre register for a mammogram and she said , honey have you lost some weight ? I said yes, and she said, my god i thought you didnt work here anymore and wondered where you were and what happened to you and then when i saw your face i realized that i thought you were you........................this has been happening to me lately, twice last week people came in asking where is colleen ? does she work here still ? and i say yes this is Colleen.

Hi Barbara

How is the exercise? Maybe if you just bump it up by 5 minutes it will

help break this plateau. Are you journalling to see if there is any

type of unthinking eating? I know Im struggling myself right now and

Im trying real hard to get back to basics.

Huggles

You can do this!!

Barbara,

I can totally relate to your issue. I have been stalled for months,

not lossing a darn thing. I have even scheduled an appt with the

nutrionist again. I too was eating between 1000 - 1200 calories and

not getting results. I have since Monday added a protein shake in the

afternoon and eat a heartier dinner and so far since Monday I have

lost 3 pounds. I keep reading that maybe I have sabotaged my body

into thinking it was starving and I was holding on to all my weight.

That might work for you to up your calories. No harm in trying, right?
