Guest guest
Hello everyone, I hope you are all well!! I am writing because I have a concern about Gentry, she will be 1 on November 24th and she has some sleep issues, she wakes up during the night almost every hour, she is so tired and wants to sleep but she keeps waking up. Last week she had a bit of a cold and we gave her benadryl at night before she went to bed, she slept for almost the whole night, now last night was the first night since last Saturday that she went to bed without Benadryl and she woke up every 30 minutes. Does anyone have any suggestions? We go to Mayo at the end of November and will see Dr. Whiteman, as of now Gentry seems to be healthy, and all blood work has come back normal, I am just so petrified that this disease is just laying dormant waiting to show its ugly face. Thanks to all in advance for all that respond, I appreciate everything you guys do!! By the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZIPPORAH...I hope you had a great first birthday!!! Guest guest
Grace has some sleep issues. She often has times where it seems that she never gets into a deep sleep. We use two different medications, one to help her fall asleep, and another to help maintain her sleep. To go to sleep, we use Melatonin to help her fall asleep. It is sold OTC and we use one whole tablet. To maintain sleep she uses Periactin. This is prescription that we use for many reasons, including migranes, sleep and an appetite stimulant. (She takes a double dose at bedtime.) Best luck. Find the music you love on MSN Music. Start downloading now!
Guest guest
Hi : Leah didn't have the exact issues of waking up every 30 minutes or hour. But it wasn't until she turned about 4 that she started to sleep through the night. For Leah when she was a baby she had a cleft palate so It was more difficult to take a bottle plus with low muscle tone I believe she tired herself out from the bottle at times and would wake up in the night more to eat. Leah still takes a bottle to go to bed (she is 6) and there are times she will wake up to have a bottle because she is thirsty. Another thing I noticed with Leah is she slept better with me. I would sleep on the couch many times with her on my chest so we both could get sleep. And once she got to a big bed there were many, many nights my husband or I would sleep with her. Does Gentry nap during the day and if so how long does she nap for? Is it the same sleep pattern? Take it one day at a time. As you said, just to play it on the safe side to have Dr. Whitman examine her would make every ones mind at ease. Keep pushing for an appointment instead of waiting till November. That won't come soon enough, and meanwhile no one is getting sleep and that isn't good because with little sleep comes illness for the healthy ones. I know these answers may not help you; but some times it is nice to hear what other people have experienced. Also, we do notice that when Leah is starting to get ill, she will wake up every couple of hours (sorry it isn't like yours to compare). And me being the mom I'm the one who hears who quickly and responds quicker to that. My other two boys never would get up after a few hours if they were ill. So I know this applies only to Leah and how he body responds to the energy use to her illness. Take care. Nerenhausen mom to Leah and Wayne wrote: Hello everyone, I hope you are all well!!
