Guest guest
>>>>>I received the total attention of the staff at Dr Ren and NYUMC. And still do. A phone call never goes unattended. Nor do my emails. No question goes unanswered. I am not just one of a hundred patients. I feel like my care is totally individual. <<<<< , I couldnt agree more . . . my pre-op experience with Dr. Ren has been the same. I feel totally confident in the fact that she is will be there for me whatever I need. I was thrilled to learn that she is the on call doctor the weekend of my surgery, but from what I have heard she would have been around anyway had there G-d forbid been a problem!! Guest guest
I wonder if Dr. Ren just likes doing the RNY because its easier? From what I have heard about her (with the unmentionable surgery) and those comments about RNY and lap band, makes me wonder about her. Nick can refrain from comments about ME, please. Guest guest
Despite what you may have heard, Dr. Ren does quite a few DS's. When I had my consult, she described ALL the procedures she did, in detail. She then asked ME which procedure I felt best fit my present and perceived future lifewstyle. When I explained my eating habits and told her that I felt the DS was the best procedure for me, she immediately concurred, and that was that. So please don't make the blanket statement that she prefers the RNY because it's a simpler procedure (which it is); she does what is best for the individual patient. Guest guest
I was thinking (oh no!) on my way home today in the car that perhaps when someone says " Dr. Ren said I should get the " fill in the blanks " because of (whatever reason), it may just be that Dr. Ren talked about all options and asked the patient which did they prefer after hearing all the options and the patient chose to take one avenue over another and Dr. Ren said " ok if that is what you feel comfortable with " and then the patient says Dr. Ren said (whatever) was best for them, when all she did was present, let them chose, and agree to give them what they wanted??? Convoluted, hope you can follow this line of reasoning. I know I only want DS. I am so glad I found out about it before I got any surgery, because up till a few months ago I thought there was only ONE wls. I would have been really PO'd had I gotten rny and then found out about DS. My reason for choosing DS is I can not imagine not drinking with meals or having dumping syndrom. I will take taking vitamins with deligence any day over dealing with those issues! Carole
