Guest guest
Congrats on your decision to have Dr Baltasar do your surgery!! I am SO happy for you!! You must be beside yourself with excitement and anticipation--and rightly so! As a newly post-op, I can truly say this is SOOOOOO worth it! No regrets, whatsoever! Thanks Terri!! Congrats on your successful start to a new improved life!! I am very excited, motivated and terrified! I have absolute confidence in Dr. Baltasar not only from emailing with him, but from all the people who have gone out of their way to share their experiences with me. Judith even gave me the minute detail of the trip to the operating room...LOL I am prepared! I am better prepared than if I'd done it here in my opinion. I find myself crying for no reason...and maybe only you on this list can understand after all the years of dreaming, begging, silently pleading with God to do anything if you could only lose the weight, that this is that dream...that mircle in life. I feel truly blessed to have a family that has always loved me as I am, and that loves me enough to completely support me in my journey towards surgery. When I realized insurance really was never going to happen unless I moved back to Seattle and got a new job, and my parents called and said, we'll find the money. The other day we were trying to get airline tickets and they are hard to find now in economy. I also wanted three to be comfortable for me and the gal going with me. I was really stressed and had found some for 3500. My dad said something about that costing alot and I snapped...what is another 500 when we're talking about a lifelong dream. Obviously I am not going to be to rational right now when it comes to this...I would spend every cent I have and will ever have if that is what I have to do. Thank god my parents are a bit more level headed and we have the cost under control...LOL Thanks for your suggestions!! I'm sure it will be all taken care of! ~~* AJ *~~ BMI 59 Surgery date 7/24/01 going self pay - Dr Baltasar Spain Check out the Bellingham Support for WLS WWW.lookin2bthin.homestead.com
Guest guest
Hi AJ, Congrats on your decision to have Dr Baltasar do your surgery!! I am SO happy for you!! You must be beside yourself with excitement and anticipation--and rightly so! As a newly post-op, I can truly say this is SOOOOOO worth it! No regrets, whatsoever! On the CPAP question, you might want to drop Dr Baltasar an email. Explain that you have never been diagnosed and really, really, really do not want to postpone your surgery date. Just ask if they have CPAP machines there should it become a problem. While it may not be a common problem, I cannot *imagine* that a hospital where complex surgeries are routinely performed would not have the equipment to handle something like apnea...
