Somebody should call Gagners office in the morning and inquire of the best

way to handle and this problem. I dont think anything is going to be

accomplished in this group concerning at this point. She doesnt do

what she should do and everything we offer in the way of help falls on deaf

ears. Anything reasonable is ignored.

Reasonably there is nothing we can do with Dr Gagner. Ethically, he cannot discuss with us (and you really don't want him to, do you, considering that you might someday appreciate dr/patient confidentiality?) and he already knows (probably better than we do) that she is in serious trouble as a result of her mental state. Considering that, I am thinking the deeper we get, the more problems we might cause. At this point, it's clear that she's contributing to her physical decline, and I have a sneaking suspicion that somehow we are enabling that, and that makes me uncomfortable, enough to drag me out of my usual lurkacious state to give comment. It's like someone sitting at the bottom of a deep hole crying out for help. We throw down a rope, a ladder and jet shoes but all they seem to do is stare at their feet and bemoan their lot in life. Not only have they become completely stopped in life, but they are doing their best to stop everyone who passes by. At some point that person has to realise that THEY are the one who has to climb out. Everyone is willing to assist, but no one else can do it FOR someone else. And the people standing around the rim of the hole, peering down sorrowfully after having thrown down every tool they can imagine, have to move on.

, you've got tools. Start climbing. That's all, cause I'd like to move on.
