Hi everyone,

>>>It is scary to think that something could be incredibly wrong

> and no one will return a call.

It just occurred to me, when I call the Mt Sinai " surgigal

associates " extension [] to get the voicemails of

Gordon, Gee, Ivonne Baily and Yvette Santiago, the very first

thing you hear is " ...if this is an emergency, hang up the phone and

dial 9-1-1 "

I used to think it was kind of humorous, in a way. Like, why would

they have to preface calls that way. But in light of this recent

thread and how hard it has been getting through to a human over

there, I guess it's not that crazy after all!

So, the moral of the story is, if your a recent Sinai post-op and

feel you have something going incredibly wrong, even if you are not

sure - get to an Emergency Room or dial 9-1-1. No, it shouldn't have

to be this way. We *should* be able to have urgent calls returned

promptly. But, bottom line is, we need to get the help we need, when

we need it.

And BTW, I have had moderately good luck calling the front desk and

having the medical assistants paged and holding until they pick up.

I would imagine if you say that you're recently post-op with a

problem/concern they will get you through to someone who can help.

Of course, I'm pre-op now, so that theory remains to be proven.

Best wishes!
