Guest guest
Hi , This is still all new to me, hope you don't mind a lot of questions. How long was it after you started the Cytoxan that you felt results? Were the results significant? I'm in a sticky situation here....it's get back to work by July or risk loosing my job and home. Have a great weekend! Rick wrote: Rick Don't feel bad. I've been here a couple of years? a year? and I'm confused. Guest guest
Hi Rick! No, I don't mind questions at all. My answers aren't professional only my own reactions & thoughts. Besides, it's 3:30 am here I have all the time in the world so ask away. I really have not been impressed with the Cytoxan. The massive weight gain began about 6 months into it. I had to stop buying bags of brown sugar because I would crave it & sit in front of the tv & eat it straight out of the bag. I didn't really have the nausea & anorexia they had as a side effect of the Cytoxan but I also was prescribed Anzemet, which if your insurance won't cover it is now $700 for 3 little pills. I told the doc & quit the pills & my stomach is sometimes upset but I have lost 32 of the 50 or 60 I gained. As far as improvements I haven't really seen anything but I don't know where the sarc would have me without it. The neurologistwants to put me on either Imuran or CellCept but I have to be released from the sarc doc first. They want 3 more months & anothe MRI before they'll even discuss it. I had to have my cvp shunt replaced last year because it failed & my hydro returned which kinda makes me feel like the treatment isn't working. My neurogsurgeon feels the sarc is what clogged the shunt last year. I have too many docs! The sarc doc says he feels the junk on my spine is sarc, not bulging disks & he wants to keep me on Cytoxan to keep me able to walk. Are they giving you Cytoxan as a treatment option? I have been off work for nearly 3 years now and don't really see anytime soon of going back to work, at least not full time. I am fortunate that my daughter is grown with 1 adult & 2 nearly adult children and I don't have a house that I have to worry about trying to keep. It's been one helluva adjustment to the change in income but I have always been a thrift store junkie! LOL The hardest part is my daughter lost her husband to lung cancer 8 months ago & I don't really have much left to help her out. OK NOW TRACIE HELP ME OUT WITH THE TECHNICAL STUFF! It's a hard pick between the treatment options. Me, personally, I wanted to take the nastiest treatment while I was still physically strong. My problem at my job was memory lose of procedures, typing speed & errors. It broke my heart because I helped set those rates when others were telling me to slow down! LOL My choice at work were take a medical leave orrrrrr the HR woman & my supervisor had folders full of ammo to let me go so I took the medical leave. FMLA? It's been so long I can't remember. The COBRA was extremely expensive and since you mentioned a house I assume medicaid is not an option. So many things to contemplate & neurosarc leaves my brain foggy & tired & VERY UNORGANIZED. The after Cytoxan steroid ramble is off & running! That's my story & I'm sticking to it! grannylunatic@... Boardwalk for $500? In 2007? Ha!
