The New Year

Like some of the others have already said, the New Year hopefully

will a new beginning for some of us. I agree totally with Tracie,

that I no longer wish to be so dependent on others, I need to get

off my butt and at least try to make myself stronger, to fight to

get my spirit back, to listen to and follow through with suggestions

that I know in my very soul are true. Tracie, you've touched me in

your post, because I find that sometimes, when things come up, I

have started just throwing my hands up and saying " I can't " and the

truth of the matter is " I can " I refuse to be bullied by the medical

profession, I will stand up for my rights this year, I " Will " have a

say as to what happens with me. I will stop being so dependent on my

family as they are useless anyway, but will make an attempt to find

alternate ways of making sure that my needs are met daily.. I've

already started Physical therapy, but I haven't been that faithful

doing my home exercises.. I will do those because I know, they will

strengthen my body.. And I will become a better human being this

coming year.

Thank you Tracie, for being so open, loving and caring with this

group, for sharing and researching things that so many different

people of the group need. I hope each and everyone of you know how

hard Tracie works to find the answers to the questions you have..

Some, by trial and error on her own part, but so many times, she

sits at her computer and researches things that we should be looking

for ourselves. She is a fighter and she has fought for all of us..

I appreciate the fact that when I was in the hospital, blinded with

a staph infection, that she took the time to call me, it ment the

world to hear a caring and knowledgable voice on the other end of

the line.

Thanks to all of you.. for supporting each other.. The older members

of this group are welcoming..and I enjoy every minute of talking to

you in the chat room. I hope that if you haven't taken advantage of

that option in our group, you will at least try it once.
