Guest guest
Hi, everyone - well, I got the labwork results. I think Ivonne is reading the group list (perhaps she's psychic? LOL) because I got a call at 8:40 a.m. (thank God I was up! LOL) and she told me that my labs were... almost perfect!! Hurrah! My calcium levels were just a few points low. She said to keep on my current regimen (I'm taking 2 Citrate pills twice a day but only switched to that about a month ago. I was taking caltrate three times a day before that). However, Niccole mentioned a LIQUID CALCIUM that would be good if my labs were low... does anyone remember the name of that supplement? Perhaps other Mt. Sinai post-ops will chime in and give me that information.... I'm SO relieved that I didn't have to re-do anything (people were talking about amber vials and such - I had it done at a local Quest Diagnostic and they freaked out when they saw all the tests, man) and that (almost) everything is a-ok! I was concerned about the protein --- I'm usually averaging 80 gms/day (sometimes more), but it was fine! Thank God for that! I've been feeling great except right around my period. I can get pretty tired then. I tell you life is WONDERFUL after this surgery. It's no miracle cure, but my recovery has been so uneventful and smooth. Now that my labs are good I can breathe a big sigh of relief and keep up the same routine! My only complaint is that I'm on another damn plateau and have been for about 2 weeks. I was down to 151 but shot up to 154 and hover around 153-152. I can't wait for my body to decide that it's time to MOVE ON and get BACK TO BUSINESS! I walk quite a bit (over a mile each time with a double stroller) but I haven't noticed that making any difference. Perhaps if I were undertaking more strenuous exercise it would be more effective? My panni is shrinking fine and 'pulling up' (Dr. Gagner's exact words LOL) and my breasts are saggy but still ok with me. Maybe I'll feel different after all the weight is off and want a boob job... I just saw one done on TLC and almost fainted, man! all the best, lap Ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 four months post-op and still feelin' fab!
