Pat, from what I understand Darryl ( the insurance guru for

this group) is on vacation until Monday--from my experience, he knows

what to do to get the information to the correct person at your

insurance company--I was originally scheduled for surgery on May 11th-

-on May 2nd he sent the information to my insurance company & within

an hour or so he was on the phone telling me I had been approved &

then they asked me if I wanted to change my date to May 4th. I did.

The sooner the better. You didnt state specifically what your date

is, but I know that Darryl submits to insurance in surgical order. I

know I was really impatient to get that approval, but before you

trade off your date--give him a chance to submit it when he gets back

next week. Also, not sure how the docs would look on us trading our

dates--they may have a reason for the way they schedule based on

complexity of each case...just my thoughts.

Good luck with your insurance. Take good care.

Hi Ogretta,

Thanks for the words of encouragement but I am still very worried. With

both Yvonne and Darryl on vacation, I don't know if there is enough time. My

surgery is scheduled for July 17. Yvonne said that they had to have

insurance approval a full week ahead of time or they would bump me off the

schedule. That brings us to July 10. Darryl doesn't come back until the

9th. I don't even know if my file was even sent to him yet. If I can't get

this surgery by August 10th or so, I'll have to wait until next summer. I

teach and need to do this over a summer vacation. I'm keeping my fingers

crossed!

I would switch with you if needed. My only problem is

my pre-op appt. are not until the end of this coming

week. Also, i have Dr. herron and I don't know how

this would interfere with there scheduling. I agree

with Ogretta though. See what Daryl can do for you on

Monday when he returns. If you find out you need to

switch (my appt. is August 1st) ask the Dr. if you can

and I have no problem with it. I am ready!

Pat,

dont give up--that is what they told me too--needed to be approved at

least a week befor surgery or I would get bumped--well, as we see, I

did get approved a little more than a week before my original date of

surgery. but, then they asked me to move up my date; so I was really

only approved 2 days before my surgery...dont give up-- I know it is

frustrating when we are not in the " drivers seat " , but Darryl really

seems to know how to get these things through. Dont give up!!!

Take good care.
