Guest guest
Its been such a long time since I posted. I'll give an update... I finished Nursing school. Im now an RN and I work in the Pediatric ICU at the Children's Hospital here in Buffalo, NY. Ive managed to overcome this neurosarcoidosis. Being diagnosed 5 years ago was the worst thing that ever happened to me...and beleive it or not...was the best thing too. It made me the man I am today. After feeling sorry for myself because of the limitations I had, I slowly got physically stronger, better, and menatally I changed who and what I am! I know that many people do not recover or even go into remission. I kept that in mind everyday I was able to get up and care for patients, everyday I got up early to study. Even though I have not posted in a long while, Many of you " old timers " were on my mind. Just wanted to say Hi...and now that I have time and some additional knowledge, I hope to more active! Guest guest
Jake, this is wonderful news! I am so happy for you and hope the old Sarc Monster never finds you again! I know some people DO go into remission and some never get sick from it again -- but these are rare. I have a 3rd cousin that was diagnosed about 25 years ago with Sarc in his lungs. He was put on a very high dose of prednisone and has never had a flare up since! He is soooooo lucky....unfortunately, it did not work for me that way. But....... hey, I am better off than a lot of people so I keep telling myself that and I was given a second chance at life last September after being in the hospital for 75 days, so I am recovering slowly but surely. You keep that good attitude -- stay well-- and it is so good to see you posting! Hugs, Darlene NS Co-Owner/Moderator Its been such a long time since I posted. I'll give an update...
