Guest guest
Sherrie, I just had the surgery on Oct. 12 and I am doing just great. I am already down 8 lbs. I do tend to tire easily right now, but I know that will pass. As far as the cravings, it's mind over matter, I tell myself, I know what a piece of chocolate cake tastes like, I'm sure it hasn't changed and it goes away. I don't want to be fat anymore, I don't want to huff & puff walking that's what keeps me going. I lost 42lbs. before the surgery and I keep telling myself how proud I am of me. It's all about me now, nobody else. Are you going to be attending support groups and classes, cause they are a big help. Hang in there, it really is a smooth ride. Marita > > Hi I'm very happy to join a group that has gone and is going through the gastric bypass. My name is Sherrie and I am 33. I just got approved to have the surgery done. Although my BMI is 35.4 at 5'3 I am lucky that I didnt have to loose any weight before my surgery. I have diabetes that is uncontrolled. My father died from diabetes complications a few years ago. My husband and my family are not too happy in me doing this, but its because they only hear the horror stories behind this. Little by little they are more understanding. I am so excited to be approved and given this chance to in a way start over. The only thing that Im worried about is loosing my hair. I understand that your hair can fall out or become very thin. Now I already have thin hair (the only thing I can say is thin lol!) So I've already started on taking B-12. I've stopped drinking soda, and caffeine and cut back on my sugar intake. I want to make it alittle more easier to cut it now. I want to know how hard > is it after the surgery to really stop yourself from wanting the foods you ate before that you cant eat. What do you guys do to stop that craving? I also love to ice tea...being diabetic Im always thirsty and I understand that you have to wait to have alittle bit of water after your meal? Thats gonna kill me! Please give me any advice. > Hear From You Soon! > Sherrie Maldondado > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo! Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs.
